If Kurupt and Daz would've been better with their rhymes on most of the tracks, that woulda been a much more complete album.

CLASSIC album to me... easily top 15 albums ever... maybe top 10

The key was Daz working behind the board with legendary producer Mike Dean. I also think that album was the last time Daz and Kurupt put some real effort into their lyrics.

To me, it's also a classic album, although it's not on Dogg Food's level. Definitely not top 15 though, maybe top 120.

Daz should produce with people like Mike Dean( ain't he a hardrock guy?) and such, it makes his beats so much better! Tracks like "Coastin" are just amazing!

It's a dope album but classic? nah

towards the middle there are too many "pussy" "bitch" songs or whatever they kind of ruined the flow of the album if they had taken these 3 or 4 tracks out it would have been closer to classic because the second half of the album is the strong point along with the production

This album is one of my all time favorites for Sure.

I agree that some of the Bitches/Pussy tracks break up the pace but overall the album is SICK. :o

Music is subjective.  I consider this album to be in my Top 10 Favorites of ALL time.

Blaze one up and Bang this shit in your Fuckin Ride! 8)

Great album and it was all due to Mike Dean. If you listen to the original version of Livin The Gangsta Life that was on 2002 and then compare it to the version Mike Dean touched up on D&YG you will see why. Mike Dean also did a good deal of This Is The Life I Lead album. I just looked up who Daz used for Tha Dogg Pound Gangsta LP and it appears some guy named Ivan Johnson who also worked on Dogg Chit and D&YG Part 2.

oh yeah, i agree with that. just compare Crip Wit' Us from the 2002 album with Dipp Wit Me  8)

what really needs to happen is that Daz needs to get with Mike Dean again at least for a few tracks and have the album properly mastered

a personal fav of mine, the production from daz and mike dean still sound futurestic to me.

Tanya herrons vocals also help on the tracks, plus kurupt and daz though not am,azing are lyrically good throughout.
