Title: Childhood hero/favorite athlete
Post by: MontrealCity's Most on December 25, 2007, 11:03:02 AM
The guy you wanted to be. The guy you said you were when you threw that pass, when you hit that ball when you dunked, put on the goalie pads or took that slap shot.

For me coming from Montreal

^^^^^jacob whats good? Long time no talk, i aint been on here in days, i gotta get back in the swing of things on here..
WWF- I wanted to be Shawn Micheals i used to pretend i was tag team partners with Micheals haha and id wrestle my Warrior and Hogan Dummies, even when Micheals was a Rocker i had mad love for him. And Mr. Perfect he had so much swag i always wanted to be like him, even tho he was usually a heel i still loved him..I remember i went to RR 98 in San Jose and Micheals vs Taker was the title match it was a casket match i think and Micheals won cuz Kane came out and ruined it for Taker but i think me and my freind were the only 2 ppl in the whole place rooting for HBK dont get me wrong i got mad love for Taker but HBK and Perfect were my favs, and Bret Hart too. I was never as big a hulk fan as the rest. WM 6 i was rooting for the Warrior to beat him..
NBA- Mitch Richmond!! He was a great 2grd that never got the credit he deserved, but being a kings fan he was all we had for the longest time...And of Course MJ hes my fav athelete of all time next to Bonds..
MLB- Bonds Bonds bonds!!!
NFL- Anyone on the Niners i loved, my favorite was always Roger Craig when he played how he used to run teh ball with those high knees pumping i was always amazed..

John Taylor and Merton Hanks of the 49ers, Robby Thompson on the Giants, and...........Latrell Sprewell with the Warriors. Shit went downhill after he choked P.J. out, but before that he was a damn good player who acted real humble and never said shit even though they didn't surround him with any talent and were drafting people like Todd Fuller. I was already figuring I would name my kid after him, good thing I didn't knock a girl up when I was like 13.

Merton was a great cover safety, but he couldnt tackle for shit thats why he got ran out the league, he was too soft...

Well, Merton got old too, so his play fell off. He wasn't a great tackler, but the linebackers with Gary Plummer and Ken Norton could stop the run, and Tim McDonald at strong safety prevented teams from exploiting Hanks' tackling. As the 49ers started to fall off, it was the overall team tackling that really hurt them, I still remember Jamal Anderson running the defense over.
