Thug On Da Line album review:
The important aspect of being an artist is realizing your craft must continue to evolve, even if you've reached a certain level of notoriety. Krayzie Bone understands this wholeheartedly. While his first release, Thug Mentality 1999, held close to the traditional sing-songy, chant-like Bone Thugs N Harmony style, he did attempt to blurgenre lines by combining alt-rock with the R&B. With Thug On Da line, which brings unexpected nuances to what would be ordinary gangsta rap, Krayzie Bone proves that even thugism can be elevated.Courageously swimming against tha crunked-out tide, Krayzie meshes pristine, Symphonic tracks with pure street lyricism, creating a sort adult-contemporary rap style. Not to be mistaken for a hip hop Michael Bolton< Krayzie Bone maintains His edginess with the mencing "Bloodly Murder." He chants:"Before we leave from the scene you bleed/Yes indeed when I squeeze...." On a less sinister note, " Thugger Level" simulates,as best a song can, the invincible feeling of drunkenness with beef-starting, raw knuckled lyrics. Other times Krayaie gets deeper on the blusey "Hard Time Hustlin," invoking an anguished spirit reminiscent of Marvin Gaye's "Whats going on." Thug on Da Line shows a daring sense of range, proving once again that cahnge is good.
Thug Mentality was great but if this turns out better then BONE are BACK. Simple as.

After Bizzy Dropped A Hella Tight Album, And Layzie's Was Good, And Now Krazie's Is Good, That's Cool Man. Those Guys Got TALENT.
-
NOW ALL WE NEED IS 2 HEAR THEM ALL 2GETHA!!!
;D
peace

Layzie Dropped a great THUG album.
Bizzy Dropped a Deadly album (this album just can't be put in any category)
Now if Krayzie also drops a great album then the next BONE group may turn out to be there best yet.
-
I luved Krayzie's last album. I still bump it continually since I bought it back in '99. If he could top Thug Mentality then I will have a big ;D on my face.
-
Ya'll are forgetting how week Flesh came off, and that Wish hasn't dropped shit...
-
yeah but flesh doesn't really consider himself a member of bone so he don't count
and wish is going to drop an album soon
-
Of course he's a member of Bone...Everytime they scream out the members of Bone Thugs in a song he's there too...Plus when he's on most of their songs, and when he's on it doesn't sayz "Featured"...
-
No he is separate. In the credits it will say (Bone, Flesh-N-Bone).
-
Well, I am Ruthless forever, so I'm bound to say this...
But...
BONE RULE!
:)
Flesh didn't stand up to solo performances cause his voice gets annoying, his style's messed up, all that shit...Wish is cool, I'm waiting for his shit to drop.
Anyways, what label will Krayzie's new album be on?
-
Well, Yall KNOW Flesh Is In Jail For 10 Years, Anyways, Right? Won't Be Hearing Much From Him On The Next Joint...
-
They should be able to get some shit out of him, though.
Anyway, remember Krayzie being on the run for like 5 years while still recording? LOL
-
No he is separate. In the credits it will say (Bone, Flesh-N-Bone).
That's because he is on Def Jam and they are on Ruthless....He is still basically a member of Bone Thugs...They were always cool from day one...Thats why Flesh is on 90 of their songs...If you ask Bone Thugs, thay would say Flesh is in the group, but if you asked Ruthless, they would say he wasn't...Plus, that's why when they scream all the names of the Bone members they say Flesh....
Exampl:
[Shatasha Williams]
"We got Layzie and
We got Krayzie
Bizzy's in the house
Wish is in the house
And Flesh
Cleveland's definiteley in the house"
-
YEH THEY CUD GET FLESH OUT 4 SUM STUDIO TIME 4 THA ALBUM....PERSONALLY I DONT THINK ITS WORTH IT..IM NOT A HUGE FAN OF HIS!
peace
-
Anyways, what label will Krayzie's new album be on?
Thug On Da Line is gonna be released on Loud.
We can consider Flesh as part of Bone but he even said he isn't a member. It came outta his mouth not mine.
And I forgot where I heard it but they are pushing to have Flesh record under strick security and if they can't then they will rip some of his vocals from unreleased tracks. So Flesh will be on their without a doubt.
-
They pretty much consider Flesh a member of Bone, he just isn't an official member. That's why he never signed to Ruthless, to persue his solo career.
I love Flesh's style, flow ect. I think with better production he could drop a solid solo album. I'm feeling that song he did with BG Knoccout "Coming 2 Serve you" good shit.
"Hey Niggaz, Knocc, Knocc & Flesh cock glocks & Tech's we comin' to serve U" - Flesh
"Knocc Knocc & Flesh wit the glock cocked and you know we screamin' murda mo murda" - BG KO
-
Right Ppl Im gonna make this straight to the point.
1. Flesh was in JAIL when Bone signed to Ruthless, In a old interview Eazy-E said that Flesh was a Bone member and was gonna make changes to there CONTRACT to include him. Thats why in the old bone tracks (and vids) and first 2 albums it NEVER SAID FEAT. FLESH N BONE. Coz BONE AND EAZY considered him a bone member.
2. EAZY died Tomika Wright screwed bone and never signed Flesh.
3. Flesh joined DefJam, and dropped the great solo "THUGS". Not happy with his promotion and whatever, he left defjam.
4. Flesh is NOW SIGNED TO KOCH RECORDS/MO THUGS and dropped the AMAZING "5th Dawg let loose"
5. ALL 4 members consider him a Bone member and so does Flesh himself.
6. Say what you will about Flesh. but in "BTNHRESS" he made all the other members look like FOOLS. SIMPLE AS.
PS Flesh iz tha best

Ahh, thanks for clearing that up cat. I didn't know he was locked down when they signed to ruthless.
I agree, Flesh was holdin' it down on Ressurection.
-
I was kinda dissapointed in The 5th Dogg Let Loose. I prefered Truly Humbled United Gathering Souls (probably got it wrong).
-
Told yall he was a memeber...
-
Congratulations. I'll send you your medal immediately. ;)
-
It better say my name on it bitch!
-
Flesh IS a Bone member, no question about that. I thought his first solo [T.H.U.G.S.] was a near-classic, but I was disappointed with his second solo. After a DOMINATING performance on BTNHresurrection, I was expecting him to rip shit up on his new solo, but it was unpolished and the songs were clearly recorded long before Resurrection was. He had improved lyrically though, and right now, id rate him higher than Layzie and Wish, but still not higher than Bizzy [who is the best lyricist of Bone, hands down] and Krayzie [dude is just too diverse to be fucked with].
Krayzie's new album was supposed to come out last October. Shit has been pushed back like 4 times now. Its supposed to come out in August, hopefully thats official.
-
Pushed back again? I was gettin ready for it to come out next month but you said it aint. CRAAAAAP!!!
