Man, most album reviewers that matter, not some little kids on a hip hop forum, say the same thing, American Gangster is a well done conceptual album, he brought it back to his roots with this album, the rise and fall of a drug dealer, no one can paint a picture better than Hov, Scarface and Bun B are close seconds tho

Budden wasn't dissing Jay-Z and all his music, but more his role at Def Jam and his false retirement with the "Black Album". His point is that Jay was supposed to be done so that's why he got the executive job, but then keeps trying to market himself, and you need to be focused if you are the president of the label. It's actually a good point, and the words he used to describe that situation are good. He needs to drop an album, these Mood Muziks are dope, it's too bad he keeps getting shitty promotion.
