while Tupac, had alot of aspects as an artist which would make him appealing ans succesful, he never really as technical as a rapper as say Big Daddy Kane, Big L, Kool G Rap.Biggie, Nas, Az and earlier Em..Pac didnt use much multi, internal rhymes, half rhymes, assonance etc..
-
Its hard for any rapper to have the whole package best lyrics, flow, voice there is always going to be something lacking in some area, Pac used multis just not to the extent of the others mentioned
-
I have been listening to Rap for over 15 years and I like dozens of different artists
but in my opinion 2pac IS the GOAT. 8)

word, and in my opinion if he were more technical it woulda changed his flow and maybe made him worse. he did evrything right i would not want nothin different

same here!!! If he got too lyrical it would have took away his flow and how he delivered...he was amazing..

\Lyr"ic\, Lyrical \Lyr"ic*al\, a. [L. lyricus, Gr. ?: cf.
F. lyrique. See {Lyre}.]
1. Of or pertaining to a lyre or harp.
2. Fitted to be sung to the lyre; hence, also, appropriate
for song; -- said especially of poetry which expresses the
individual emotions of the poet. ``Sweet lyric song.''
--Milton.
\Lyr"ic\, n.
1. A lyric poem; a lyrical composition.
2. A composer of lyric poems. [R.] --Addison.
3. A verse of the kind usually employed in lyric poetry; --
used chiefly in the plural.
I love Wu, but this is the perfect example for me...
Think about this verse, it sounds fucken dope and Rae's Pattern is like 8)
But What do you get out of that? Any Emotion? Anything besides Danm The Chef has flows..
Even the Creation of new word's just to fit a PATTERN.
"[Raekwon]
Aiyyo that's amazing, gun in your mouth talk, verbal foul hawk
Connect thoughts to make my manchild walk
Swift notarizer, Wu-Tang, all up in the high-riser
New York Yank' visor world tranquilizer
Just a dosage, delegate my Clan with explosives
While, my pen blow lines ferocious
Mediterranean, see y'all, the number one draft pick
Tear down the beat God, then delegate the God to see God
The swift chancellor, flex, the white-gold tarantula
Track truck diesel, play the weed God, substantiala
Max mostly, undivided, then slide in, sickenin
Guaranteed, made em jump like Rod Strickland"
Pac always came from his heart not his dome, he didn't have to think about his rhymes..
they came outta his emotional at the time. which is why he has so much material and it didn't take him years to release shit.
the whole writting process ain't as easy for some as it is for others. I can almost gurantee you that
on the time it took Rae to write that rhyme Pac would have wrote at least 2 or 3 song's.
I could be wrong, if I am fuck it..
IMO Any one can Rhyme, but it don't mean the are saying shit.
So as far as lyric's goes, i'll say Pac defo was one of the best to do it.
as far as Pattern goes, I'd say Pac also had his own distinc flow exsp during his 2pacalypse days.
You can put on every 2Pac Album in sequence and see the change in not only the flow but voice.
+ for me Subject matter means alot when I hear a song, and Pac defo Came with it atleast 80% of the time.
But of course the Pussy & Money Tracks will always be there aswell..
It's all opinon, but for me 2Pac came with it..
Just like my Other fav's do
Content:
Ice Cube
Scarface
2Pac
Rakim
Pattern:
Snoop Doggy Dogg
Notorious B.I.G.
Big Pun
Jay-Z
Method Man

^^ i Agree i dont even see why u gotta make a thread about it, its like common knowledge.

PAC did his thang his way,and that's what made him who he was, fucc all that tech shit,i mean sometimes who wants to hear somebody ramble on about a subject when they could just give it to you straight and to the point, and to me that's what pac did, most topics he covered he did it in a way networth street cats could get it,you can tell chucc d and scarface was a big influence on him,and he took what they did and meshed it in a way that was his own, i honestly don't know who the all around goat is,but as far as making fans feel his shit, pac was second to none in that department yell
-
+ 1 to everybody in this thread 8)

Hell yea

i think pac is the GOAT, but there will always be people with different opinions, regardless of what happened. there are always at least two sides to every story.
-
What people dont realize is that there will NEVER be an undisputed GOAT. This isn't sports, we dont have stats to back this up. All these great MCs brought something to the package that made them great...but not everyone will prefer a Tupac over a Cube or a Nas.

Theres a different GOAT for everyone
i consider Vince Carter the GOAT but people call me a dumbass
-
He IS the GOAT to me. But if he was more technical, the critics of him would have nothing to use against him to say he isn't the GOAT. Nobody put feeling into their music like pac did. RIP

2Pac's death just made everyone realize what the rap game's missing.
He left a big gap in the industry and made great music that all kinds of ppl could relate to.
