Title: Dillinger and Young Gotti vs. Last Meal
Post by: DPGC2001 on June 17, 2001, 04:46:23 PM
To me the new DPG is alot better, almost every song is tight.  Last Meal had too much Kokane on it and was a bit of a dissapointment though it was still pretty tight.

Hmm...

I Liked Last Meal Better, There's Only About 2 Songs I Don't Like On There...

I Wasn't Feelin' About 5-6 Songs On DPG... It Was Very Good, Though..

Also, I Think The Best Songs On Last Meal Are Better Than The Best Songs On DPG, So I Like Last Meal All Around Better.

no contest for me, gotta be DPG

Snoop's album was good, but it seemed more like a collection of songs than a well put together album.

DPG - I can play it str8 thru without touching the skip button. incredible production. tracks are well sequenced, pretty much a perfect album for me.  :)

last meal i really liked.. i mean i kno dillinger and young gotti was supposed to be really good but i wasnt' feelin it.. like hardly at all.. i dont think i've given it a fair listen yet tho.. so i think i'll go do that right now so maybe i'll find out what was so good bout it..

i'm startin to really think dillinger and gotti is classic, it's just soo dope i can listen to it all non-stop there are a few weak tracks but there's enough tight ones to make up for it,last meal is great but daz and kurupt win it because on dillinger and gotti they rap better than snoop on last meal but as for the mixing of the tracks i'd say they're both good but the best traCKS on last meal are a little better than the best tracks on dillinger ad gotti, but i think dillinger and gotti is like a semi-hip-hop-classic and west coast classic kind of how method man-tical is semi hip hop classic but a definitive wu-tang/east coast classic..all are tight albums though,peace-Tanjint

yeah i gta sa DPG but they both good
snoop's album was tight too
its just that DPG album got two tight rappers as tha main people, which u all kno, daz and kurupt which is really tight
they both dope albums
i just gotta give it to dillinger and young gotti, but not by a lot
see, if dillinger and young gotti had some snoop and dre on that shit, then tha answer wouldmost definitly be DPG

later

Tha Last Meal totally blows away the DPG album.  Tha Last Meal is amazing and grows on me everytime.  The new DPG album is good, dont get me wrong, but doesnt compare to Snoop--and thats fo sho.

Last Meal is my pick overall... why? D&YG seems to be to repetitive. The production from Daz seems to be same ol same ol, nothing shattering or new, Kurupts rhymes are starting to get to me too, Bitch this Bitch that, they are getting dull to me, not as fresh, just overused. Last Meal, even though its a strange Snoop album, seems to maintain itself solidy, I just gotta pick it above D&YG...

DPG fo sho!!  Eventhough LAST MEAL is tight as fuck too..  but Hey I was kinda dissapointed with DAZ for alittle bit but after Dillinger Young Gotti album i have so much respect for that fool.   The BEATS are fuckin crazy.   It's one of dopest albums that's been out lately.  I'm hella feelin it.    Very Well done!! Kurupt is just too siiick can't wait till His solo album drops

last meal by a landslide

why?

1. d&yg is tight the first time you listen to it, but then it lags off and is TOO REPETITIVE, the production is alright but it can get TOOO REPETITIVE, and that to me is corny, plus daz yeah he might sound great to y'all but he didn't rap that well in my opinion, plus the record is too one sided and lacks in topics and versitility, which i know both kurupt and daz are well capable of

then you got the last meal which i didn't like at all for at least a month but every time i listen to it i learn to appreciate it more , i even like kokane which i hated at first, plus snoop's whole sound to the cd is the future of west coast music and is more progressive which Dillinger and gotti just use a grip of old gangsta cliches and old themes and tired formulas, i dunno plus a man called DR> DRE mixed tha last meal very well , i mean snoop has a light voice and dre does a nice job of making it so you can hear over alot of the beats, snoop might not be no "Lyrical Genius" ...but neither was marvin gaye ya know , both snoop and marvins whole approach is to be smooth and make music every one can feel wether your on the west coast or east or south or midwest or hell even VIET-FUCKIN-NAM!, while as Dilling and Gotti can only be felt really by a west coast fan based audience ya dig

peace that's my 2 cents

Everything you said was beautiful, just like a flower...
a pink one, with a little honey bee drinking nectar from it.

I agree D&YG ... way too repetive.. you said they have the same topics... YES... nothing i could relate to... as I get older... I get maturer and want something to relate too... their music, yes bangin, isnt hitting me right... good at first... but too repetitive..
Last Meal is unervisal... it has UPs and DOWNS that an album has to have.. so when your sad you can listen to it and when you happy you can listen to it..
dilli and gotti dont got that.....

at first i thought dpg was better...it's kinda too repative, and the production is kinda boring...ya know....needed some nate dogg in it or something

Y'all are some hardcore Snoop fans, Tha Last Meal was poor at best, Snoop can do so much better, its no way his worst album, but its no way near his best. DPG was pretty tight, much tighter then i expected it would be, production was sick.

Peace
