Going to be a good one. I hope the Chargers lay a good ol' fashion ass whoopin' on the Patriots.

i hope so, don't think it's realistic though. should be a good game seeing as the chargers have drastically improved since their 1st meeting this season.

It's all about pressure and coverage (and dropped passes due fear of hard hits). If the Chargers can pressure early and knock the fuck out of every receiver that makes a completion they'll have them worried. The big IF is if they can penetrate the NE o-line. I'm not sure if Merrimen can get through Light but if he can (or if they put Merrimen on the other side and he does it that way) and get Brady playing under pressure then the Chargers can slow the Pats down. If the chargers pass protect like they did today and Rivers or Volek get the time they got then we could see an upset.
Brady>River and Volek but River or Volek with time>Brady with no time. You can only do so much if you're WRs don't have time to get open and Brady isn't Vick.

No... I will call those "tough games"... a bad game is where everything and anything falls apart. The kind where life puts on a steel toe boot that day and kicks you right in the ass. :)

The Giants showed they were capable in the cold wind. The warmth of the Superbowl may make them more capable or a lot less. I think the Packers with Hawk and Kampman rushing the QB may be the best chance to slow them down. And on offense the way the run game is moving and Favre getting out of jams I think the Pats have a legit shot at a clean win. But until then; Go Chargers.

It comes down to this in my mind. If Merrimen can have his way with Light all game the Chargers win. The o-line is the key to keeping hte Pats from scoring. The Colts D did it for 3 quarters in week 9. San Diego should watch those quarters over and over and figure out what Indy was doing.

Just a thought; does anyone really think the Chargers wouldn't sill be where they are now with Marty. I mean they beat a Titan team that showed up with no offense and a Colts team that showed up with no defense. I don't see how Marty would have magically made them lose. I'm not hating on Norv but it wasn't bad coaching that made them lose to the Pats last year. It was complete and utter bone head decisions made on the field by nervous players. The pressure is completely off this year.

In the game against the Pats? They both did a fine job against the Pats. SD just couldn't execute in the red zone. Every game I've seen this playofs was execution winnng out in the end. The only game that was stupidly coached was Pats/Jags by Del Rio. Every team this year that had the Pats on the ropes did so by rushing the QB. And every team that ended up losing did so by poorly executing at the end and not being able to finish, except the Ravens who got won the game but got fucked over by both their coach's timeout and the refs bullshit illegal contact. (If you call one illegal contact play against any team playing against the Pats then you better call it on every play on Rod Harrison. That fucker cheats to end). Anyway, that's all beside the point. What's the poit of having a strong fast D like the Jags do and then playing it safe all game? It was stupid right from the start. If they had played a little more smash mouth on D and established a 3 run threat by pounding it with Taylor and Drew, and then drawing Gerrard every couple drives they would have had a much better chance.
