Whats up fellas and ladies? I was just listening to some of the newer snoop songs, and Ive noticed that his flow is starting to get faster, more clever, and all around better. It seems like snoop has been doing less ad-libbing, and started concentrating on getting his flow back into tip-top shape. Perhaps its me, but check out these songs, and tell me what you think.
1.) "What They Say" (From the "Whats the Worst that could happen" Soundtrack) I guess that this song was a radio drop, and I dont know how long ago snoop did it, but to me, this was the first time that I noticed Snoops flow getting better. He really brings the heat in this track, with a dope beat, great hook, and a nice doggystyle type flow
2.) "Crip Hop" (From the "Baby Boy" soundtrack and the new Eastsidaz) Snoop completly outshines Goldie and Tray dee, on this track. Snoop dosent ad-lib behind his raps, and I think this makes his verse much more hardcore sounding and much more on point.
3.) "I can get it" aka "Crampin my steez" (From the new Eastsidaz") Snoop drops the dopest hook ive heard from him in a long while. He also starts the track with a nice little intro/verse type thing. He moves his voice up and down, and it sounds REALLY dope. You should really check it out, I havent heard anything remotely this dope from him in a bit.
4.) "Do you wanna Roll?" (from the "Doctor Doolittle 2" soundtrack) Although this track has kind of a "Kiddie" feel and snoop dosent swear, he still comes correct. I dont know if anybody else is feeling this track, but snoops verse is hot.
5.) "We From the LBC" (from the new Bad Azz album) Once again, This track is really dope. Not much more to say, but I really think snoop and Bad Azz vibe off of eachother in this song, Snoop brings some "sizzle with my nizzle" type shit that im feelin.
There are some more tracks out there that Im sure I forgot, but these are some of the best new ones. Im not quite sure what to make of this sudden improvement in flow. It almost seems like snoop was saving his really dope shit for his own label, and so he put lots of filler on the last meal. Damn near every "post last meal" track ive heard has been off the hook.
I think that 2001 is shaping up to be another 1996 in terms of Westcoast Rap music. Youve got a dope summer full of DPG releases, hopefully some new Dre snoop stuff (wash soundtrack), Deathrow getting back in the game (some people may not like it, but I think its gonna force snoop and company to rally together and make some of the dopest music we have heard in a while.) and you have much more Westcoast shit getting a mainstream audience. I hope that this quality keeps up, casue Im lovin it.

very good post, i totally agree with everything you said

its gotta b hard for snoop to start rappin faster with all that fuckin smokin he does
he can prolly barely breathe considering he almost smokes 24/7

Even though I've only got a few of those songs above, I agree with your comments
Sure, his flow aint as good as Doggystyle still but it is so much improved from the bullshit we heard on his last 3 albums
He is getting much better, hopefully Doggystyle flow can be brought back

Great point, I agree with ALMOST everything you said. I wasn't feeling Snoop at all when he was with No Limit, I don't know what happened but he was releasing pure garbage. I thought the Last meal was ok , alot better then his other No Limit shit but far from his days with Dre producing with DeathRow. However his latest releases im feeling alot more but still not on the level from his DR days. Now you mentioned DeathRows getting back in the game? How are they doing this? By releasing more unreleased material? Beause I haven't heard a damn thing about a CROOKED I album. What's CROOKED I thinking right about now, his labels pushing more for a old DPG album then his. I'd be pissed and be like what the fuck. If that album drops anytime soon ill be surprised. However if the album does drop I do expect it to be half way decent and an improvement from the stuff DR has been releasing ie. TG4R, DMW, UTEOT. But wouldn't you want to market your stars on the label rather then old unreleased albums?

His flow on crip hop is outstanding, i can't get over that... good post... i agree all the way... and for the song "what they say" ... I don't like how he names all the rappers, but he does it great ;)
