I got stung by Africanized bee once..i ducked under a shed before the whole swarm could get me, the single sting hurt like crazy..

Thank God the others didn't get their chance to feast on me...

you might find them repulsive, but then, roaches are generally harmless, in that they won't do anything to you, right?

Personally, I found it interesting, but I wasn't very shocked. The creeping-into-your-skin thing the bot fly does is gross, but a common technique for parasites...for example, there are little worms that get into your flesh through water and cause bilharziosa, there are similar parasites in Asia who'll just get into your skin and hang out there eating what they find until they're removed...malaria is caused by parasites in your bloodstream
