would they have to be from compton or some place like or be black to be 'real' and if theyre not can they talk about shit that goes on and still be thought of as real
could they get away with sayin nigga in the sense of 'what up my...'

theres this white kid (well he's nearly 30) called 'Eminem' (yeah like the sweets) he's not from compton or some place like that.. and he's considered real coz he's talking about shit in his life.

i dont know about being able to get away with saying 'what up my...' it depends on your situation, we've discussed this a few times.. some people (myself included) would definitely feel uncomfortable saying that - but some people wouldnt think anything of it.. same goes for the "black" person being questioned.. some would take offense.. some wouldnt.

I'm white and I'd never use the N word (as we seem to be using) cause if I was black and some white boy called me that I would be offended and wanna smack him a few. If I refer to white people in raps I call them a white boy or a whity(ee) but in truth white people ain't white and black people aint black but I fucking hate racists. Little bitches. From a whitey. and it's all because they grew up in a black based area in Brooklyn etc. and thats all they heard, so really, they are black inside (Cuz thats who they grew up with), and nobody cares when they say that..But if somone who is REALLY white and grew up White like Fred Durst said "Nigga" that would be different...I really dont know why...

i guess coz if ya flip it backwards from what your said about growing up in a heavily black area.. to somone like me who isn't likely to even see over 3 black people a day suddenly turning around and calling walking up to a black guy and saying 'sup nigga' - i expect to be either knocked down, or laughed at

I live and grew up in a massively black area in North London, and im white, alot of my boys is black and when we chillin i call them "nigga" not in public just pissin bout and they call me pasty cos im Irish white, its all good.
Racism exists in my area but its between asians and black people mainly.

I think when a puerto rican person uses the word nigga it's different from when I white person uses nigga. Puerto ricans never gave us the name nigga. Whites did gave us the name nigga back when we were slaves. I'm not being racist. I don't really have a problem with a white person saying whats up nigga. But if a white person says fuck that Nigger. Notice the "er" at the end.

Many blacks, such as myself get into the habit of callin' each other niggaz. It's a bad habit. It becomes apart of our regular speech and it shouldn't become apart of it. It's a ignorant word but yet we still use it.

I couldn't care what people call me where I live. My neighborhood is very diverse. We got every race livin here. The beautiful thing about it is there is no racism.
Me and my friends call eachother names for fun though. They call me by "nigga" every once in awhile. I call my asian friend "squinty eyed bastard" and it goes on. We do it in fun, not hatred for eachother.

I grew up till I was like 11 in a mostly black hood(De Renne, Savannah, SOG, but proud of it)...So I'm comfortable saying nigga...But niggER, like he said, is the bad one...
I basically stopped using any "racist" terms bar wigga in public after a cop told me off when I was on a public phone...=)
Nigga is a positive, if we cut out all "ignorant" words, we'd get rid of half the language our heroes use...=)

I think that one of the major achievements of hip hop is to take a word that was used as an insult towards blacks and totally changed the common meaning of the word into a greeting.

It's like it changed over the yearz.... to me the word "Nigga" is more of a Hip Hop thing nowadayz.
I don't say Nigga cuz to me it still is a black thing... I'm Mexican and to me, saying "Nigga" around my people they'd be like "what?"
I see what you are all sayin about a White guy being able to say "Nigga" if he grew up in tha hood with black guys... and I agree but then again... he could probably only get away with sayin it in THE hood he grew up in with the black guys he grew up with.... cuz if he steps in another hood and he's like "wussup nigga?".... the black guys would be like "who'z this white boy?"
Nigga and Nigger are two different things in my opinion though...

I live in Toronto and if u don`t already know, its very diverse. Theres no racism here, me and my friends will call each other names and shit but its in fun, we don`t really mean it and as long as everyone knows it no one gets angry.
