has 2 b doggystyle for me shit is perfection
-
doggystyle, no doubt..... but chronic aint bad
-
Doggystyle, It's Way Funkier :)
Chronic Is Perfect Too, Though....
-
They are both AWESOME
But remember when it comes to enjoyment what makes Doggystyle better is that The Chronic used up its 'big hitters' too early. This is what I mean:
2 - Dre Day
3- Let Me Ride
5- G Thang
6- Deez Nutz
7 - Lil' Ghetto Boy
14 - Stranded on Death Row
They are not spread out well enough whereas:
2 - G Funk Intro
3 - Gin and Juice
8- Murder was the Case
10 - Who Am I?
12- Ain't No Fun
14 - Doggy Dogg World
17 - Gz up Hoes Down
See what I mean?
Safe

Fuck... both these cd's are classics... but without a doubt i gotta go with Doggystyle
Peace
-
tough one, but I'll say doggystyle. first hip hop album i bought and still the best.
-
u must have forgotten tha shiznit
-
THERE R MANY GREAT TRACKS ON EACH CD
SO.......................
IM GONNA GO WITH MY OWN PERSONAL FAVOURITE...............
DOGGYCHRONIC
WHICH IS, OF COURSE, THE BEST TRACKS OF BOTH ALBUMS!!!!
EASY
peace

DOGGYCHRONIC LMAO!!!
But dudes..The Chronic is better. Proof?
Peep:
DoggyStyle only has 1 song of substance(MWTC),while chronic has 2(The Day The Niggaz Took Over,Lil Ghetto Boy). also The Chronic's song formats arrangement is superior to doggystyles. How so?
Doggystyle's song formats are very conventional: Chorus-Verse-Chorus-Verse-(maybe a bridge or some shit)-Chorus...you get the idea..The Chronic has songs like the day the niggaz took over that is completely organized seemingly yet still has perfection, dre must have labored like HELL for that song alone to master the drum and sample breaks and the cinematic perfection for the verses to drop in,same with dre day, lyrical gangbang, also the chronic's vocal samples are dope doggystyle has no noticeable vocal samples except in the intro which cna be a good or bad thing but i think the chronic is better because it's arrangement is more artistic..as for being more enjoyable? I think it's equal. peace-Tanjint

dawm that's a tought one duhh???
look at the picture a the left tell me what ya'll think,,,, yesss DOGGYSTYLE that's the shit that got me into hip hop ,,, without this album who knows if i'd listen hip hop,,,,lol but THE CHRONIC as some dope stuff on it two ,, that's was ma second album,, introduced to me by my older brother!!!!
-
the chronic hands down the best hip hop record ever recorded, the beats are unmatchable and i dunno basically nothing really can touch it's quality cept maybe Doggystyle
-
I can't really decide. They are both incredible and I couldn't have a complete record collection without them. I gotta give it to CHronic by an inch since I see how it did alot of things for rap in general and elevated the careers of many including Snoop, the guy who made Doggystyle.
-
The Chronistyle...LOL, JK...
Naah, but for real, The Chronic...Just the greatest there is...
-
The chronic is better. Probably the greatest hip hop record.
-
To me Doggystyle is the better produced album of the two. I think it's probably the best produced hip-hop album of all time. Overall the Chronic is slightly better in terms of revolutionizing hip-hop, while Doggystyle was almost like a Chronic part 2.
-
doggystyle...the best album ever recorded...not only rap...all music
-
yesss chronic revolute hip hop but ,,, like ya'll know ,,, doggystyle came after,,,, so everybody was bumpin to tha chronic then doggystyle came on and whoaaaaaa,,, it makes a better revolution in hip hop .... everybody was talkin bout this album....nowadays, artist like nas or jay-z ( who supose to be THE THING) are takin some of snoop 's lyrics,,, i don't say the took all the song but look at jay-z,,,, with the collaboration of memphis bleek and SNOOP DOGG,, on get your mind right,,,,, i'm like 85 % sure it as been took over snoop,,, he talk bout it in doggystyle and tha game... , and what about lyrics like,,, "we got chick in the room and they ain't living til 6 in tha morning,,, nas on oochie wally remix ,,,took over snoop's GIn and Juice....and i passs,,,,, ya'll know what i mean,,, they luv his style and they copie it a bit and now they are better them the guy,,, god dawm......once again my opigion.. so don't get too exited...one luv
-
Plus without The Chronic there would be no Doggystyle.
-
i'm not sure bout that dogg,, cause that's not the chronic who brings snoop dogg in tha game ,,, it's because of the song "deep cover" then dr.dre try snoop on his album and the chronic just help doggystyle but it doesn't create it...naww mean...1
-
i have to go with my favourite album, from my favourite rapper... Doggystyle
-
i hate it when i get asked this question!
damn!....erm.......shit!
fuck it....its messing with my mind trying to compare them....
tie.
-
No shit this question is too hard to answer...Its like tryin to compare perfection to perfection.
-
I dunno...Doggystyle has a different sound. Also, shorter(my version, anyhow).
The sound is a bit...well, spookier...Just as a point, Fuck Wit Dre Day had a LOT of meaning.
Doggystyle, review of good songs and why:
G-Funk Intro: Just CAUSE...Except the words don't really mean anything...
Gin and Juice: WOW...The chorus also sounds nice...=)
Lodi Dodi:Take THAT Slick Rick! =) Dope beat, Nancy Fletcher makes my eyes open wide in shock every time...great story tell.
Murder Was The Case:My favourite line is "My eyes are closed..." One of my all time favourites. A bit depressive for Snoopy, but we know he had issues. =)
Who Am I:My second favourite G-Funk song....Bump that motherfucker! Pure dope, purer than Colombian Gold...
Ain't No Fun:Nate's best performance outside of G-Funk Classics...Kurupt is great, though neither Warren nor Snoop actually make us fall back in shock. Lovely "Chronic"-ey beat, that I must say I'm obsessed with. Great chorus.
Gz And Hustlas:Easily the best song here. One of the greatest songs in rap history...I generally faint from shock at the pure quality of it...
The Chronic has "Fuck Wit Dre Day", "Let Me Ride", "The Day The Niggaz Took Over", "Nuthin' But A G Thang", "Deez Nuuuts", "Lil Ghetto Boy", "A Nigga Witta Gun", "Rat-Tat-Tat-Tat", "Stranded On Death Row" and "Bitches Ain't Shit".
So, marginally, by percentages...The Chronic wins for me. Tho Doggystyle has more "just nice" songs than Chronic....Which, I suppose, has none. DS has Doggy Dogg World, Serial Killa, Tha Shiznit....So possibly it's better overall.
-
damn I thought I posted on this thread already.
Doggystyle is a more rounded album - silky smooth consistent
i'd say the chronic has a wider variety of tracks, and is darker.
Doggystyle gets my vote - but only just
-
ummmmmmm...........Doggys....no.....Chron....no.....ITS A TIE!!!
-
naw, Bdogg is right, the chronic did help create doggystyle just the references in doggystyle to shit from chronic proves it alone. and didn't ANYONE read my reasoning why the chronic is better?? eh,peace-Tanjint
-
I can't say it is a tie now that I think about it. Since Doggystyle is an improved version of the Chronic (production wise) then that makes Doggystyle a better album. Dre worked harder. The guests, most were on the Chronic, had improved from the last time around. As a whole album, Doggystyle is better.
When it comes to the format of the songs and how good they are The Chronic takes it. It has more substance and more meaning than Doggystyle.
Damn Now I'm back at a tie LOL.
-
doggystyle, no doubt bout dat
peace
