Sup yall. "The Truth" a local hip hop underground New York City newspaper recently interviewed SHYNE from prision or before he was actually sent (it didn't clearly say). But it was after the judges ruling. Not the most popular paper here in NY but apparently helped SHYNE while he was a unknown giving him some press and props. But anyway I have the article in front of me , it's dope as hell , i'll copy the most important parts.
On the judges ruling :
SHYNE "I thought it was very disappointing and un-called for. I know I did wrong and deserved to be punished but not for that period of time during these years of my life. But what can you do, you have to deal with it. Sometimes I don't think it's a Black or white thing in America anymore, I think it's a money , power, connection thing which a young black man like me doesn't have and maybe if I did have those things my sentence would have been lighter.
On Puff Daddy:
It's a scary thing how you can think somebody is something through words , money , and promises but when it comes time to prove it through actions you learn that person is completly different. Puff Daddy betrayed me plain and simple. The best thing for him was to distance himself from me during the trial and he did exactly that. If the best thing for him to do was pay someone to put a bullet in my head he would have done that too. He showed me no support , he turned his back on me and worried only about himself. I got no phone calls, no visits he bascially treated the situation like he didn't know me. This is after the nigah told me for months he had my back through thick and thin. But you know in the end the powers that be will take care of him. I know in my heart ima live a thousand lives and that Puff is gunna die a thousand deaths, fo sho-
On his contract with BADBOY:
Im done with BADBOY, i'd have to be the dumbest nigah around to stay with BADBOY after what Puff did.Knowing that nigah would stab you in the back in a second I dunno how the man has any friends. But much like myself I didn't know either, I had to learn, maybe these nigahs will learn one day too, for their sake I hope so. I have two more cds worth of stuff that can still be released leaglly on BADBOY. I'd have to say in all truthfulness that the 2nd cd is HOT but the 3rd CD is pretty much rough drafts that never got cut in albums one or two. According to my contract with BADBOY I owe them nigahs three albums, so they'll eat off my next two. Afterwards much like 2pac i'll try and record something in prision to keep my name alive. This pending any agreement I can come to get me outta BADBOY sooner, i'd like nothing more then to never give that snitch P=Diddy another penny, but as far as my lawyers say it's in black and white and right now that's the way it'll probably go down, but they did say they still workin on something. One thing I would like to say is their is BADBOY and their is P-diddy. I have alot of love for alot of nigahs employed by BADBOY. Alot of true, hardworking mutha fuckas helped me out on that label and i'll never forget them. I got nothing but love for BADBOY all my anger goes towards Puff.
Who will you sign to next? :
I haven't even thought of that to be honest. After dealing with this whole Puff Daddy BADBOY shit im just shying away from any label right now. Mad labels have got in contact with me and it's nice to know nigahs have interest in me but last thing I need is another P-Diddy on another label promising to give me the world and when the shit hits the fans the nigah ducks and stabs me in the back. Right now im a free agent and nobody is even close.
There were rumors DeathRow/Suge Knight contacted you in prision , is this true?

Can you tell us if it was Suge Knight or DeathRow?

Nah, it was short and simple, and kind of private, you know I got love for yall but some shit is just private.
Was a contract offer made to you by Suge Knight? Can you tell us atleast that?
No offer was made.
Last question about Suge Knight/DeathRow, would you ever consider signing with them?
I'd say prolly not but you never know.

I got some love for the music Dre puts out no doubt, I think i'd sound hot on his beats fo sho, but I couldn't deal with that bitch ass nigah Eminem, hed say something stupid and id kill him in cold blood and find myself back in prision.

Why the fuck did he have to diss Eminem like that? I like Shyne, but not if he's going to hate on Eminem like that without giving a solid reason. I don't like Daz as much anymore because he dissed Dre over some jelousy shit.

hatesrats... The Shyne track, "Bonnie and Shyne" is more pop than anything Eminem has done, and so is the track with 112 on his album. I like those songs, but if your going to call Eminem pop, then so are all these other muthafuckers.
An you better believe that if Eminem went after a big name black artists it would turn into a black vs. white issue, and everybody looses in that situation. Eminems too smart to get into a beef like that, cause he knows the haters would immediately start calling him a racist.

He publicy has dissed WILL SMITH BLACK, NELLY black, puffy DADDY BLACK, Jenny Lopez LATION, so no it's not a matter of him not wanting to diss a black artists because he'll be called a racist. By the way the end result of him dissing Nelly was he found out Nelly was staying in the same Hotel as him and he called his people and demanded to stay at another hotel, since then I haven't heard a word out of his mouth about Nelly. No he won't diss SHYNE back he won't diss SHYNE at all he doesn't have the balls to. It's not if your black or white thats not what Eminem takes into account before he disses you, he takes into account if your a physical threat to him, if you are he won't say a word about you. My answer is simple as this... Will Smith and Nelly don't count. Will Smith is a joke. And the real hip-hop heads don't give a fuck about Nelly. You know that. And Puffy and Eminem are cool with eachother, Puffy even invites Eminem to his parties and shit.

This is the problem..I like Eminem..But I never mentioned anything about white-Black-brown-.....ect. All I said was that the Shyne interview was tight...and Eminem getting dissed is funny to me. Seeing how POP stars get so much heat from him....I'm starting to understnd how Eminem must feel....Tired of seeing himself on MTV..
