Damn! Did anybody else watch that remarkable come back win by the Blazers today? Numbers don't even begin to tell the story on Brandon Roy. If the All Star reserves are named on Thursday and i don't see his name on the list, then somebody doesnt deserve to be there.
-
i watched it..dude is amazing..but that foul at the end was questionable IMO
-
alot of good games in the nba today.

Yea it was, but I'll take it this time because thats usually a call that goes against us. Its happened to us several times this year, so we deserve it, lol.

NIGGA!!!!

Portland is a fun team to watch .. Roy is great , I like Outlaw game a lot too .. if Oden develops, you will have a great inside-outside game which equals NBA title in many cases .. anyways this team has a bright future
-
My boy reppin' UW baby
-
Let's see if Oden is bustin first.
-
when Portland gets Oden next year PLUS a new first round pick, AND their guys now have playoff experience, they'll be a DANGEROUS force in the future
portland's got my respect thats for sure, very interesting looking squad.
-

LOL I'm not sure what you mean. Do you mean bustin as in being a bust? Or do you mean as in hittin? Either way, Roy is a stud.
-
Being a bust. What makes you think he won't be a bust? As far as I'm concerned, missing your entire first year is not the best start.

man if the nigga needs to get microscopic surgery to save his fucking career the dudes gonna do what dudes gotta do
oden will come into hte league hungrier and he'll have another first round player beside him
that team is sitting pretty!

He had god damn microfracture surgery. You gotta take the time to heal. This guy is gonna be a monster. He is the most can't miss prospect to come out of the draft since LeBron James. He's amazingly talented, an athletic freak and has a great work ethic. Amare Stoudemire came back off the same surgery and he looks ok to me, but he missed a whole year from it. That does not make Amare a bust. Calling Oden a bust at this point is extremely short sighted. this is going to be the Howard/Oden era in terms of dominant big centers. There isn't a GM in the league who wouldn't have taken Oden with the first overall pick besides maybe Orlando's GM because they already had Howard.

One thing i never read here, so let's say it: Portalnd has a great fucking coach.
-
^^^Yeah, he's definitely been an underrated part of this team's success. He's a team USA assistant coach so I guess he knows what he's doing. I really didn't expect him to have the youngest team in the league overachieving like this though. I don't know yet if he should win it, but his name has to at least be thrown around a few times in the Coach of the Year discussion. Doc Rivers aint shit. You don't even need a coach when you have that starting 3 (yes, 3, not 5).
-
That's what i'm saying.
Plus i love coaches who teach how to defend. I like defensive-minded teams. You have to be a GREAT coach to teach young cats how to defend like that.

Anyone know what happened to Channing Frye after that promising rookie season? :-X

He's been a good option off the bench for us. I don't like that he's a jump shooter primarily, but he does a good - not great- job on the boards. He plays behind Aldridge, so he won't see a ton of minutes, but he will be effective in the 10-15 he'll get a night. He was never really a starting quality pf to begin with and I think he just overachieved in his rookie year.

losing randolph = addition by subtraction

yep. I liked him while he was a Blazer, but now that he's gone and Portland is winning, and NY is having a worse season than last year, I'm glad he's gone. Thomas even said that Randolph's problem is he always feels like he HAS to get his 20 and 10. not a team player at all.
-
Randolph is extremely overrated. He's a big 6-9 jump shooter who plays no defense. He's the definition of empty stats.
-
fuck frye. I completely overrated his impact on the blazers. and I cant even blame myself for that. fuck him and his sorry mother.

LOL damn...where did that come from? Are you pissed off because he's not producing big numbers for your fantasy team or something?

Exactly. Well, basically he's rightfully waived since november.

LOL...he traded Raymond Felton for Frye...I, too, thought it was a good trade at the time.

LOL, 7even, you did know he was going to be playing behind Aldridge this year, right?
-
^^You do realize that if Frye was good enough, he could start alongside Aldridge, right?

You can say that about ANYBODY. lol And what position would he play? Center? He was brought in simply because he could back Aldridge up reasonably well.
-
Bottom line: Frye can gobble a dick for all I care :D

brandon roy=allstar

Yup! That means NBA 2k9 is finally going to have a Blazer with a rating higher than 85!

Both Frye and Aldridge can play center and power forward. Frye seemed to be much more than a back up when he entered the league.

When he was acquired by Portland though, everybody knew it was for him to back up Aldridge because we already had two very capable guys at the Center position in Oden and Przybilla. Aldridge didn't really have a back up other than Outlaw who is a natural SF who can play spot minutes at PF depending on the matchup.
-
^When Oden went down, it really seemed like Frye would get that starting spot by default. Nobody knew he would subside each year. His rookie season made him look like the next quality big in the league...PeACe

Nobody that follows the Blazers thought he would start over Przybilla though. Joel is a defensive force in the middle and a big body to cause problems in the paint, plus he adds toughness to the frontline. thats the exact opposite of what Frye has been. Frye's role was always going to be spot minutes behind Aldridge to provide a little jumpshooting and modest rebounding. I was actually kind of mad that he was all we had to show for the Z-Bo trade.
-
^ I would be too...you probably coulda' gotten much more. And Pryzbilla should be a back-up at best.
-

that nigga and his sorry mama are living it up in a mansion somewhere son.

There's only a handful of centers in the NBA who would start over him. Don't take that as me overrating him, take it more as a statement regarding the quality of centers in the NBA.
