I Won't Rank 'Em, But My Votes For Best Ever, Would Be
Tupac
Snoop
Rakim
Cube
Eminem...
I Say Those 5 On Consistency, And Output, Plus, Just Basic Success Counts For Me.
I Mean, I Ain't Gon Throw Puffy In There Just For Selling Records, But NOT Selling Records Is What Keeps Ren And Kurupt Off The List... Peeps will Prob. Give Me Hell For That, But That Counts As "The Greatest" For me. And Don't Give Me Sh*t About Eminem.

It's amost impossible to get just a top 10 let alone a top 5..too many great mcs. And Trauma i agree about Em being one of the greatest,he's already proven he is one of the greatest but top 5?We just plain can't decide unless we debated for like 2 years. peace-Tanjint

To me:
1. 2Pac - The best over all rapper. When he was alive, I can honestly say I knew people that called him the greatest then. He spoke from the heart, sold the thug life style, and spoke to the streets, but keeped it sellable. No one has changed the game, with the exception of Dr. Dre, like he did. The ultimate head figure of rap.
2. Rakim - A living legend. The man he flows for days, and had rhyme that left you with your mouth dropped. Who ever his produce was, wither it was Eric B. or anyone else, he made them sound good.
3. Ice Cube - Before 2Pac, there was Ice Cube breaking down society from it's weak knees. Cube had many great CDs from 1991, with AmeriKKKa's Most Wanted, to 1994, with Lethal Injection. Afterwards, didn't come out with a solo album until 1998, with the War disc, but keeped his name alive with movies, and trhe Westside Connection in 1996. From 1986, when Boyz N Tha Hood was first released, until 1996, Ice Cube was straight up, one of the most dominate forces in rap. The War disc was slepted on, but the Peace Disc is what keep him off of peoples list that only have a 3 month memory.
4. Notorious B.I.G. - I owned both his CDs, and I can say that he made Puff Daddy's Bad Boy empire. Without him, Puff Daddy is just a no talent producer that steals songs. With him, Puff Daddy runs the most succeseful Record label since Def Jam records. Biggie was a voice from the streets, that eastcoast heads held on to because they feeled the shit he spoke. The sales don't lie, Life After Death, 10 million, that's diamond. Biggie had great flows, and spoke shit that every common person from poverity can feel. His mediphors were second only to Rakim, and his flow, second to maybe Snoop. But what ever anybody says, you can not denie, Notorious B.I.G., or Biggie Smalls, was a great talent that deserves the hype N.Y. gave him.
5. Eminem - OK, I said it, and all you hates can check this out. Had Eminem stayed underground, he'd be known as a great rapper that will never make it because his white. Since he blew up, his known as a average rapper that blew up because his white. Fuck that, Eminem can made freestyles that make muthaphukkaz look really stupid. I truly think no one can beat him in a freestyle battle. The man is a talent, and people think his shock rap is a gimmik. Well his talent, rhyme, and mediphors or not. Eminem, without a doubt, one of the top 5, and I can't think of any rappers that can beat him in a freestlye battle in person. I do think 'Pac on wax, but in freestlye?
