Title: Mark Wahlberg Starring In Cocaine Cowboy Movie
Post by: Elano on January 30, 2008, 10:52:56 PM: Former rapper and now actor Mark Wahlberg will star in an untitled film based on the life of Miami drug lord, Jon Roberts. Roberts was chronicled in the hit documentary, Cocaine Cowboys. The movie, which will be directed by Peter Berg, details Roberts’ time in Vietnam as a decorated soldier to his role in distributing billions of dollars worth of cocaine for the Medellin drug cartel while residing in Miami. Roberts, who eventually served ten years in prison for distributing drugs, is featured in DJ Khaled’s video "I'm So Hood." The untitled movie is slated to go into production when the writer's strike ends.

You'd be surprised...I still meet people who have no idea that Mark Wahlberg used to be Marky Mark the rapper.

Truly. I remember back in the day, people made fun of him for that as much as anything else. "Vanilla Ice" was at least catchy...Marky Mark is just fucking lame, even kinda gay.
