I say the remix is better.... I like that grimey sound
-
both classics, but I gotta go with the OG
-
The remix isn't bad but I like the original better.

both classics, but I gotta go with the Remix?
-
The original = classic. I never liked the remix.
-
I like the remix better. It sounds like a beat that Dre made for Snoop and didn't use haha.
-
The Remix. I'm feeling that a lot more lately because the OG I've heard a billion times now. I love that Kleeer sample.
-

I'm the same way. It took me a while before I even heard the remix.
-
The remix is better to bump in your car
The original is better to hear in the clubs and at parties
-
Does anybody know the name of the unreleased song they play at the end of the California Love (Original) video? It starts at the end of the song, during the dream/nightmare sequence that shows 2Pac imagining the whole thing
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8av_ftCIrc8
They play it at the beginning of the video during the 'Can U Dig It' intro for some reason on this youtube link, and they play it at around the 6:40 mark. I remember when I first saw the video back when it premiered hearing that beat at the end of the video, it sounded so dope and I was disappointed when I heard All Eyez On Me and that song wasn't on either disc.

That remix will still tear down a club to this day. OG like someone said earlier sounds great in a system. I dig both of them.
-
I always forgte wich one is wich because i mniht be wrong but some cds had the remix some had the original
-
Remix has alwayz been better 2 me. Probably because i used to hear it less often than the original.

Original for me, but i treat them as different songs and listen to them on different occasions. i like how they did a video to both to reflect that.
-
The Remix without a doubt! I love this beat and Roger plays a bigger part!

I bought my CD the day it came out and was dissapointed cause the Remix was on it and not the OG. I know some of the CDs have the OG on it but I always preferred that one but kind of got used to the Remix because it was on the album and I like the Gfunk vibe that Dre gave it.
-
i prefer the original; the remix is not bad, but i guess i was so used to hearing the original that when i first heard the remix i was a bit disappointed.
the remix is slower, and more smooth.
dre should have kept the vibe of the original track when making the remix imo. Can't C Me matches more with California love OG, than the California love remix, when it comes to the vibe.

yeah does anybody know why Death row put the remix on the album in stead of the original? usually remixes are only on the cd single

they did things backwards put the OG Cali Love on the maxisingle of How Do You Want It which also contained Hit Em Up
-
As much as I love the remix, I like the OG better.

LOL I remember that indeed, with Death Row you never know but it could have been a marketing ploy to add the OG to b-side of How Do You Want it so they could get more sales I think the maxis cost around 5 or 6 dollars in '96

As far as we know it's just an unreleased Dr. Dre beat. Nobody really knows if there was a song made to it or not. But ya, that beat is fuckin fire. That shit could get released today and be a hit.

Did the How Do You Want It single come out before the California Love single? That one had both the OG and Remix as well as the Instrumentals for both. The How Do You Want It single has the "Long Radio Edit" on it. Is that version different than the ones on California Love? (I only have the CL single.)

I'm still waiting for Detox :-\
I like the OG better too
-
True, they both classics. But not often is a classic remixed and done well. It was pulled off well with Cali love.

BUt That Single had "Hit 'Em Up" on it aswell...
That Alnoe made me go out and cop it when it came out.
I had to track Down an Import Single of "California Love" (Original) to Snatch me up That version..
(Ah The days before the net, When We had to have Search for Them Album's & singles...lol)

the original can't fuck with the remix

I think the remix is better... its more west coast sounding... but really I like the Remix because Im in the video.. lol Im the dude that brought all them hoes to the video shoot.. The little asian looking girl shaking her ass in the video is now married to my brother..

^
Agrees. The remix has that Westcoast vibe. Love Roger Troutman at the end of the RMX. The original is classic, too(obviously).
-
Had to vote for the OG. Straight up classic.
