Warner Music Group is offering up to $25 million dollars for Death Row Records’ back catalog, according to The New York Post. In a recent filing related to Death Row’s bankruptcy case, WMG was named the leading "stalking-horse bidder" in Death Row’s Los Angeles-based bankruptcy proceedings. Over 10,000 titles are up for sale, including recordings by Tupac Shakur, as well as Snoop Dogg’s classic debut Doggystyle and Dr. Dre’s landmark album The Chronic. Other potential bidders, including Koch and Evergreen Copyrights, have until April to top WMG’s $25 million dollar offer.

Dre & Snoop need to throw their hat into the ring....
-
interscope/geffen, koch, warner, evergreen :o
let the bidding war begin, it's time for some unreleased music, not another compilation with previously released songs
-
I expect a torrent of bootleg DR releases to appear as certain peeps try to cash in before a major label releases a shitload of unheard music...hopefully
-
Thats wussup...
if Death Row was to properly be restructured... the West will be back on the map in No time...
-
death row has NOTHING to do with the future success of the west
that said, im sure they have some bomb ass music
-
Let's hope so. When Death Row started, they didn't just have The Chronic, they owned it.
-
man this is taking a shit on the independent dream isnt it.............everything suge/dre/snoop/dpg/nate/etc worked for being bought off, that shit BELONGS to the artists who recorded the tracks not no fucking corporation.
-
deathrow is in good hands at warner
hopefully the illegal 100 million judgement will be overturned next month and suge can move on
-
the takeover of Deathrow Records doesn`t include Suge Publishing, so whatever happends or whoever buys Deathrow Records Suge will still get a check every 6months fo his share of the publishing

I don't care who owns it as long as all the unreleased shit sees the light of day. If Dre buys his stuff, he won't release it because he won't be satisfied with it. That is why its chucked away in the vault.
