Top team in the West just got a 3-time NBA Finals MVP who's dominance earned the Lakers a 3 peat (they never won again) and then he also won another ring with the Heat.

West's real best team? ::)

LOL...If they were the wests real best team, they wouldn't have felt so threatned when the Lakers acquired Gasol.

As if the Lakers would not scramble to make a trade had it been the other way around? People act like the Lakers weren't scared of OTHER teams (since they were beginning to lose ground and NEEDED an extra push to get over the hump they've been stuck at the past 3 seasons), which is why they made the trade (the need was there...) The same goes for the Suns (The need is really there, they've been stuck in a better position than the Lakers, but stuck nonetheless).
Now that there's a new threat, they have to do something to minimize the threat. It's not that "they're scared! OMG!! TEEHEE!!!!" It's called being tactical. Gasol playing with Kobe for the rest of the season (plus the possibility of getting Bynum back) meant the Suns might not dispose of the Lakers this year like they have the past two seasons... so what does anybody do when they know a change needs to be made? They MAKE the change.
Scared? I doubt it. Cautious... of course. But like I said, the Lakers were cautious too. And knew that if they wanted to be the elite team in the NBA, beat teams like the Spurs and the Suns (or if they get this far; Boston or Detroit in the Finals), they would HAVE to make a change.

There is No BEST team in the West..
It's A Toss Up...
I'd even go further and say The Team that end's up winning at the end, Still Might Not be the best Team.
it's all About Who Play's the best Come playoff time, & Which team want's it More When it count's.
:-X All that Record talk/Regular Season, We'll See Come Playoff's.
Their Ain't no Gurantee of any of the mentioned Team's in There Yet?
It's That Close.
Saying The Western Conference in the BEST, Now that is Fact. ;D

Lakers haven't beat Suns in a series so i'll give it to you there, even though LA has a stronger team this year, but San Antonio is definitely>>>Phoniex
