Just something I wanted to share.
I think that "Ultimate Victory" was the best album of 2007. To me this album was a true masterpiece, a true concept album. Chamillionaire didn't give a shit about the industry and what everyone is doing and released an album according to his own vision. He could've easily used the regular hit-making producers and have 15 features, but instead he made the album tha way HE wanted it.
The result is a true classic, with tons of bangers.
But the sad part is that this is an album for mature listeners only, and that's something most hip hop fans are NOT. So, what did Universal do. Stopped promoting the album, and I don't even know if it went gold. And I think it's sad...

couldn't of said it better myself, a classic for sure.
2 clarify for you, it isn't even close 2 gold :'(

I'm a mature listener of hip hop but i just can't get into this album. I've given it quite a few chances but it still aint sounding any better.
-
its partly chams fault... hip hop police was a terrible choice for a single, and then he CHOSE not to put out a second single (for a good reason, but still)
fyi - he didnt film the second vid cause universal didnt put up enough money for it

Allthough i'm not feelin the album, that is a great track. I didn't like it too much at first then it got better every time i listened to it.
-
yeah its a good album, but i think he kinda jacked my style for it.
-
I agree but he screwed himself by releasing "Hip Hop Police" as the first single. Today you can't be on some political tip and expect to sell like 10 years ago.

I enjoyed the album, i wouldnt say it was a classic though.
I dont understand why people say its a concept album.

I disagree completely. Subject matter is almost inconsequential. The reason I say HHP was a bad single is because of the beat and hook - it just wasnt strong enough for radio play.
Great vid, though.

I feel that Ultimate Victory is decent but it doesn't get half the rotation time that Sound of Revenge still gets in my car. Sound of Revenge is probably the best album I have heard in a decade.
-
Agree with OP 100%, this album grew on me everyday LOL!!!
-
Yep yep, def a great album
-
