Hot!
I love this album!
I've listened to it 4 times thru - it's hard
In California and O.G. are amazing songs
Was O.G. Snoop's final released recording for Tha Row?
How much did this sell?
PS. Tray Dee is UNBELIEVABLE on this album He is AMAZING
Kurupt was VERY DISSAPPOINTING tho
Ital Joe was AWESOME
Snoop and Nate were BRILLIANT
Who's Ran Dogg? He produced Baby Mamas Drama - also is Big C Style the singer on thaT????
Who's J - Money and Ty Cuzz?
The Gang is Bad Azz, Soopafly and Tray Dee. When did they start and when did they end?
Dope album

Yeah, I know!
I hear alot of people talk down on this cd but personally I thought it was THA SHIT!
I've had that shit since I saw tha "In California" video and that was yearz ago and I still play it.... My favorite songs were always...
"Oh No" Feat. Tray Dee
"Retaliation Revenge & Get Back"
"Ridin' High" Feat. WC
"In California"
"Ultimate Come Up" feat. Bad Azz & MC Eiht
And those were just MY favorites.... I know there's a grip of other tight songs on that cd!
-
I was so suprised cuz I always hear it being dissed in here and it is the SHIIIIIT!
-
Yeah that's what I'm saying!
I alwayz hear people say it was "Dissapointing" coming from daz and I'm like "What tha fuck?? Did you hear tha same cd i did" cuz I think it was Dat Nigga Daz at his best... well I dont know, he was tight on Dogg Food too.
But then what I dont get is when people say RAW is better than Retaliation Revenge & Getback.... actually I was dissapointed when I heard RAW, I've had Retaliation Revenge & Getback for years and only had RAW for a couple months and still bump Retaliation wayyy more.
-
songs 4-11 are my core favorite songs....
-
Did you buy the re-released version? Or did they not remaster it?
-
??? is there any BIG difference between tha original and the remastered one ???
-
I have been waiting to hear this album for a while. I have to cop it.
-
It entered the charts at the #6 position, and dropped fast selling gold. I thought the "In California" video would blow up, but I only saw it twice on BET.
It was my favorite album of 98, although that isn't saying much cause that was the darkest year for rap, with Master P and Puffy running things, but still a very dope album. And far better than anything Daz has done since.
-
its a dope album.. i've never heard anyone diss it.
-
Can any1 answer my questions?
-
i think The Gang was formed around the time Daz formed MobStyleMuzic
-
What was that?
-
it was a label daz tried to start at one point (it was the first time he left death row.. he then ran back) they dropped one compilation
-
yeah i agree with you Jay_ay_Bee this CD is HOT!... i have seen a few people talk shit about it... but i think it's amazing
Peace

Any answers on these?

it didnt go platinum - death row catalog shows on the ones that did
btw... I know the answer to this.. but
Who can tell me what is special about the cover on this album?
-
i really don't like this album the production is lack luster and the only one who comes off nice on here is Tray Dee , Pac, Too Short and Snoop

1998 was not a dark year for hip hop. In 98 hip hop was begining to blow up. The beef between the east and west was finally ending and we had people finally focusing on music. However the west had fallin off so I guess you could say 98 was the darkest year for West Coast hip hop. We had some good records in 98 such as gangstarr's moment of truth. Xzibit's 40 days 40 nightz. Dmx's first cd It's dark and hell is hot. (don't sleep, his first album was the shit) Big Pun's Capital Punishment. We had the canibus and ll beef. Hmm... tupac's greatest hits. We had Mop's second album. 1998 was the year that Outkast dropped their classic Aquemini album.
-
I gotta disagree
How you could leave out Nate I don't know
Overseer - Everything is opposite - good side and bad side
Or is that too obvious?
-
that is there.. but its not the answer i'm looking for, there is something special about that cover.
-
Is it something you'll know of from looking at it?
-
Hold up.... is it something that YOU think is special? Cuz if it is.... how are we supposed to know what you consider to be special?
-
there is something of note that not many people know about that cover.
-
But can we look at it and see it or would we need other information?
-
u need other info.. unless
you'd s.. you know another way.
-
shit this is hard..... anyways i got the album and i think its bangin' now lets take alook at the cover, i have the cd but for you who dont here is the picture

he also makes lots of references to Marvin Gaye thoughout the album.
-
jay Ay Bee...Why did you jock narrator?
-
I disagree with it being better than RAW and better than anything he's done since, both are bangin but i think R.A.W. is better and Daz is very consistent in my eyes so i wouldn't say he just got worse after this, peace-Tanjint
-
what ever happened to album covers......they're not creative anymore like that one marvin gaye cd, what happened? i mean damn i'm looking though all my uncles old vynals and i see a grip of interesting album covers.....what ever happened? every thing is all simple and shiny....oh well i know it's not what's on the cover but what's on the cd
-
Hmmm, I think I'll make a new thread.
-
On that album was Daz's production influenced by Marvin Gaye?
-
dunno ;D
but Daz definitely gives him props.. i'm sure i was he's mentioned him and an influence in interviews.
-
Oh aiight. Thanks.
Marvin Gaye was amazing though. Alot of people were influenced by him.
-
I laugh when I hear that name...(No disrespect to Gaye. LOL...)...But Marvine was tight though, he's a true legend...
-
anyone hear that new song by erick sermon with the marvin gaye sample? shit is dooope
erick is one of the only people to have the record with that sample on it too, it was a limited edition single or sumthin
-
Yeah I heard it.... It's a pretty dope song....
I think it's called "Music" or "Just Like Music".... I dont know, something with music in it... I saw tha video too.. it gots old footage of Marvin Gaye
-
That song is hot. Alot ofmy friends ain't feelin' it but it's bangin'. I have to cop that single.
-
that that song is really hot fo sure!
