Miller would love to be a Maverick?
Friday, Feb 8, 2008 4:04 pm EST
Memphis Grizzlies guard/forward Mike Miller is reportedly being shopped as part of the Grizzlies' clearance sale according to the Dallas Morning News. As is the case with most good players on the trade market, the Mavs have been mentioned as a possible destination for Miller.
"That'd be fun," Miller said. "They've got a great team. ... They've got a lot of talent already. I don't know if they need me."
The Mavs could find a spot for a 6-8 pure shooter averaging 17 points and 6.7 rebounds per game. Miller, who is shooting 51 percent from the floor and 43 percent from 3-point range, would be a good fit on the wing opposite Josh Howard.

Them niggas is really just giving all they good players away. If Dallas piccs him up that would be good for them. memphis obviously aint worried about gettin actual equal talent in return for trades, so this might go down.

They're blowing it up cause the team they had wasnt worth shit WITH Gasol AND Miller. It was time to blow it up so they can focus on rebuilding around Conley and Gay. Getting rid of Gasol got them picks, a prospect combo guard in Crittenton and it also gets them somewhere around 12 million under the cap to puruse a max contract free agent this offseason. They're making good moves for the future. Its not like theyre gonna be any worse than theyve been over the last couple years. Who knows what they can do for their future by getting rid of Miller. If they can get a pick, a prospect and an expiring contract for Miller their rebuilding effort shouldn't take long at all.

Only if it goes down and if Dallas only gives up JACKSHIT just like your team
I think the pick-situation in Dallas is not so good, they gave up 3 firstrounders for Dampier

LOL@Critt and 2 first rounders + a valuable expiring contract being "jackshit". Not to mention Marc Gasol, who could very well become extremely valuable in the near future.

In comparison to Gasol it is jackshit. Of course Dallas would have to give up much less than the Lakers to make the trade for Miller equally unbalanced.

Well Dallas had virtually no center at that time. You need a center to play basketball. And this was the best option they could find at that time. He also got overpaid like a motherfucker. Those things can happen. Also note that he had his best season by far the year before he came to Dallas and signed the big new contract...

When you're going young and freeing up cap space, that's not a bad deal at all...

Don't forget their looking at at least a top 5 pick right now in addition to whatever picks and prospects they get through trades and a max free agent. Sometimes trades work out great for both teams.
