Am I right in thinking there are restrictions on it in America?
Here you can bet on anything, anytime pretty much.
Football, Boxing, Horse-racing, dog racing. Even the NBA and stuff on certain websites.
Do you not just use sites like: www.bet365.com, www.skybet.com, etc?

I use to. 4 team parlay, but I never won lol. I did this over the course of an entire NFL season.

yeah, there are restrictions, both those sites dont work for me :-\
I was going to bet at bodoglife.com -But I heard they tax/take a percentage of your winnings from you, which sucks!

Is there some kind of ban in America?
I remember something there being some kind of laws/restrictions imposed which affected the amount of people even playing online poker and hence the diminished numbers at the WSOP 2007 compared to 2006.
That's pretty shit.
We can bet on fuckin ants racing over here, it's great. :)

yea the same with me. put 50-100 on a game when company's over to watch. super bowl a couple hundred. but betting on games weekly, that could get addicting.

Try daily.
There's always something to bet on.
It's great if you are good at it and vice versa.

I place my wagers at Pinnacle Sports (http://www.pinnaclesports.com) and I get a lot of information at Covers (http://www.covers.com).

Everyone takes a piece of your winnings, it's the juice (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vigorish), that's how they make money.

Google "Unlawful Internet Gambling Act". It's not really clear what the act is since some sites like Party Poker bailed on the U.S. right away and PokerStars still allows U.S. players to this day. But A LOT of online casinos, sportsbooks and poker rooms do not allow Americans to sign up or have an account anymore. Most online "e-wallets" like Neteller and Moneybookers don't allow Americans either. The U.S. government has everyone shook.
