Title: Around when did Manny Fresh change his style?
Post by: R1ZE on February 12, 2008, 10:26:55 PM
I downloaded some early cash money albums earlier and the beats are really wack. I'm actually a big fan of manny fresh's newer style, but this stuff just sounds like noise imo.

Around when did he change his beats to his newer style? I'm thinking around 2001 or 2, but I'd like to get everything I could with his fuller sounding productions

I'd say after the Hot Boys fell apart.

Im gonna school you...

from 96-02 manny fresh collaborated with live studio musicians namely a keyboard player named barewolf and a bassist named funky fingaz and during this time manny put out some of his dopest shit...albums like BG's all on you volume 2 and choppercity as well as juvies solja rags  incorperated live organs and strings and all types of shit. It was real reminiscent to DJ quiks style of production just from a southern stand point...he utilized barewolf and funky fingaz the same way quik did rob bacon and G one...personally I think mannies production took a turn for the worse after he lost his in studio musicians, I dont know if it was money issues or what but his production has lacked the organic sound that made me like his shit form the start...I feel the exact same way about quik.

I always loved Mannie Fresh's production, I don't how the hell can someone say about his Cash Money production to be wack!! TO me he was always one of the best producers in the game, then and now.
