Disgusting origin of Valentine’s Day
to find the origin of Valentines Day we have to go back to the Romans...
Saint Valentine was a Roman Christian Bishop who was killed during the reign of Claudius II Gothicus (originally named Marcus Aurelius Claudius).
Claudius II strongly opposed the marriage of young men, as he believed that they were better for war.
St Valentine did not have the same beliefs as Claudius II and so he secretly married young couples, blatantly going against the law at that time.
Once Claudius II found out about the secret marriages, he organised a search of all those who participated.
Once the grooms were found, they were castrated, their hearts were cut out and sent to each of their brides in a box.
St Valentine was brutally beaten with clubs and beheaded on 14th February.
His heart was also cut out and eaten by Claudius II.
