hmm gimme some more West Coast shit please!

That is exactly what I was thinkin when I saw it in the newspaper. Though atleast it has got Tupac. I wonder wheter N.W.A will be in it and why the hell is LL Cool J and MC Hammer on it, I knwo thay were meant to be goo back in the old days but there just crap lets face it, they are crap.
-
You can't expect Channel 4 to produce an accurate Top 10. It'll just be all hits "Gangsta's Paradise", "You Can't Touch This" etc....
-
i dunno.. 'the hiphop years' wasnt that bad
-
It was alright, nothing I havent seen before.
-
BULLSHIT
That's what it's gonna be
-
The Hip Hop years was a classic. I watched it twice when they played it on E4
-
DID YALL C NWA ON C4 'TOP TEN BANNED VIDS'....IT WAS STR8OUTTA COMPTON I THINK...IT WAS BOUT 6 WEEKS AGO!
peace
*2nites show'll b ok....gotta catch big brother first tho!!*

big brother my arse. i did watch top ten banned vis. Smack Ya Bitch up was on
-
It doesn't have much to do with rap but what ever happened to Prodigy? I kinda liked their music. After "Smack my Bitch Up" they dissappeared, well from the U.S.
-
they've disappeared here too
the prodigy is one bloke plus 3 dancers who also MC a bit.
one of the MCswas rumoured to be dropping a solo album, i dunno if its the same one.. but one of them used to be in the uk hiphop outfit 'silver bullet' before the rave scene kicked in here (in the late 80s)
they will pop up and drop a bomb in the future - they've dropped 3 albums in 10 years all classics.
-
smack my bitch up n all that stuff was shite their early stuff was good like "out of space" n shit like that i think they split cos 1 of them has done a solo thing he was the 1 who made a video just out of loadsa fotos playin some poker game or some ish
-
true.. the first album Experience captured the 'free party' spirit the second one has some dope cuts like Voodoo People and No Good (start the dance) the latest one is dope.. but different.
whichever way.. Liam Howlett is the mastermind - the reason there was gap between Music For The Jilted Generation and Fat Of The Land was because he had a bad X problem
-
They did a quick run down from the start of hiphop from herc -> NWA then hit the top ten.
10 - Puffy
9 - MC Hammer
8 - Cypress Hill
7 - LL Cool J
6 - De la Soul
5 - Public Enemy
4 - 2 Pac
3 - Beastie Boys
2 - Salt n Pepa
1 - Will Smith
They called MC Hammer a 'Star Spangled Spanner' and showed him with Suge and talked about him being on Death Row. They played a tiny segment of G Thang when talking about Death Row.
What a stack of shit. Dre should be in there.
-
Will Smith #1
ha ha
-
based on UK success.. baahhhhh
-
Yeah, Prodigy was tight as fuck.
"i got the poison, i got the remedy"
i use to bump dat shit back in 96 all the time! when nobody in U.S. really knew about em that much
-
Will Smith #1??????
Well of course he would win. Since he is a commercial success.
-
Naw, man, I'm no great fan of TFP...But it fitted...It just did.
Puffy, MC Hammer, Salt n Pepa, Cypress Hill, Beastie Boys...Shouldn't have been there, except for a purely UK thang, or if you're talking about all "innovations"...
Dre should been there, with or without NWA. LL fitted, De La and PE shoulda been higher...
'Pac though, I started crying...Not for the position, but how they told it...So emotional...=/
I must say, Dre and Em are both massive innovators, yet weren't there, except in snippets. The program, I feel, was trying to avoid looking too modernly commercial while not leaving out c-rap(commercial/christian rap) fans out.
Mc Lyet was the first real female MC, she shoulda been there. Hmm...Be back later...
OE
Ruthless Forever
-
THEY SAID AT THE START HOW IT WAS GOING 2 B BASED ON UK CHART SUCCESS OVER THE LAST 20-15 YEARS....SO EM WASNT COUNTED....DID YA SEE PUFFY LOOKIN LIKE A PRICK IN THAT COAT...
DAMN
I HATE THAT GUY!
LOL
peace
-
Did you see Snoop get attacked by Emu?
I thought that was at some party?
-
YEH THAT WAS SUM FUNNY SHIT!
BET SNOOP WAS PISSED BOUT THAT!
EITHER THAT OR HIM AND EMU HAD A SMOKEFEST LATER!!
peace
-
But Overseer said that Snoop punched Rod Hull in the face and stood on his throat!
-
man that programme was some BULLSHIT
how the hell can salt n peppa be in the top 10?
i know it was based on sales but you cant leave out nwa
props for the part on de la soul tho....
-
COS THEY WERENT HUGE IN THA UK
NOT ON THE SCALE OF THOSE 10 N E WAY!
peace
