I love Crooked's music, and I've heard damn near everything he has "released" (uploaded to the web), and even tho he may rip Snoop to shreds in a lyrical battle, he could never fuck with him musically. Name one Crooked I-song better than Gin & Juice... Or What's My Name... Or Ain't No Fun... or Doggy Dogg World... Or Tha Shiznit... You can't... And not just because Dre was behind the boards, because Snoop Doggy Dogg had flow and charisma (charisma being the one thing Crooked lacks... would be a superstar if he had it).

Basically, Crooked I is better at each phase of the game; didn't have to really on other people writing his rhymes in his career and there's a reason why Crooked has only got better in his 11 year career while Snoop has been on the decline since 1993.

Snoop has ONE ALBUM worthy of buying...and it's a top 3 album of all time unless you put The Chronic ahead of it...DOC, Slick Rick and Kurupt were behind some of his best words and stories. i still love it but let's be real. crooked never needed a ghost writer and has even ghost wrote for people who ghost wrote for snoop lmao
Doggfather was some lazy ass shit...he clearly did not care anymore...everything was downhill from there excluding the occasional dope guest appearance/soundtrack (Jimmy Bones; Bitch Niggaz, and in my opinion I loved The Shaggy Show)
meanwhile Crooked I came out in 1998 (off of his Virgin Records deal) and outshines Kurupt not once, but TWICE on Kurupt's own album (Homeboyz + Step Up); he outshines everyone on the Big C Style albums; and outshines Snoop Dogg on "Crooks N Doggs" and "Feel So Good"
Crook's got better and better with time, the exact opposite of Snoop's career.

and i think you're seriously over estimating the input of others on Doggystyle, Snoop Doggy Dogg anno 1993 was not a rapper who depended on ghostwriters, he co-wrote most of the Chronic for god's sake! (even tho I don't doubt that the reason Doggystyle and The Chronic were so great, were because of the collective effort put into it... but collective skills doesn't nessecarily take away individual skills)

the reason he re-uses previous used lryics he's already used in songs or freestyles is so noone can take the "album material" he would drop on a freestyle he would be givin away vs it bein on a album or even him ghostwritin that for someone. so he re-uses alotta the same lyrics and saves the best of the best for the real traxx that will be coming, otherwise it shouldnt be "nuthin to a boss"

Snoop's Catalogue is > Crooked's Catalogue. But only because of "Doggystyle." If Crooked were to one day put out one classic album, they'd immediately be tied. Before I go any further let me just add that of course this is just my opinion. I know this is a sore subject for some, and of course I respect your opinion if you feel differently. I'm merely trying to point out that while "Doggystyle" is almost inargueably a classic, it's not like Snoop has dropped volume after volume of pure classics. I'm a Snoop fan, and I've listened to a lot of his music, besides Doggystyle. And some of it's good. Some of it isn't. In my opinion he's tinkered with his sound so much on each album that the result is mixed at best.
On the other hand, as long as Crooked I's only official release remains "Block Obama II," then yes. I have to say Snoop wins. In my book, Snoop is up on Crooked by one really dope album. But just because Crooked hasn't dropped a classic album yet, doesn't mean that he never will.

If we're talking lyrically, I'd have to say Snoop doesn't touch Crooked I. Snoop in his prime (like circa 1992) was dope as hell. But I'm not even sure he could hang with Crooked I. But to be fair, few can.

I liked "Doggfather" and "No Limit Top Dogg" too. I wouldn't consider them classics, but they're both solid albums. If you haven't already though, check out Crooked I's "Young Boss Volume 2." It's in essence an album (although technically not considered one) as it uses all original beats, and there are a couple versions floating around that don't even have tags. That is a very solid release, in my opinion. I would say probably the best thing Crooked I has put out, although most of his mixtapes are pretty good.
