Sources: Cavs get Wallace from Bulls, Szczerbiak from Sonics (http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=3257159)

The Cleveland Cavaliers appear to have beaten the NBA's annual trade buzzer to get LeBron James some of the fresh help he's been openly craving.
In a three-way trade with Chicago and Seattle that has been submitted for league approval, NBA front-office sources say that Cleveland will come away with four new teammates for James, headlined by Ben Wallace from the Bulls and sharpshooter Wally Szczerbiak from the Sonics.
The league office was notified of the deal before Thursday's 3 p.m. ET trading deadline, sources said, and is currently reviewing the trade details as required for formal approval.
After Cleveland watched two longstanding trade targets land elsewhere -- Mike Bibby in Atlanta and Jason Kidd in Dallas -- sources say that the deal calls for the Cavaliers to receive Wallace, Szczerbiak, Seattle point guard Delonte West, Chicago's Joe Smith and a future second-round pick from the Bulls.
The Bulls, apparently abandoning their gamble on Wallace less than two seasons into the lucrative four-year deal they used to sign him away from Detroit, would get Cavaliers forward Drew Gooden and swingman Larry Hughes along with Cavs reserves Cedric Simmons and Shannon Brown.
The Sonics, shedding Szczerbiak in the name of additional payroll flexibility, come away with the expiring contracts of Cleveland's Ira Newble and Chicago's Adrian Griffin as well as Cavs veteran Donyell Marshall.
Cleveland gets:
Ben Wallace
Wally Szczerbiak
Joe Smith
Delonte West
2nd round pick (via Bulls)
Chicago gets:
Drew Gooden
Larry Hughes
Shannon Brown
Cedric Simmons
Seattle gets:
Donyell Marshall
Ira Newble
Adrian Griffin

good deal for the Cavs. Joe Smith has suprisingly been playing pretty decent this year, and Big Ben can always be a force on the defensive/rebounding end. Wally is a good guy for LeBron to drive and kick to and Delonte West is a good backup PG. Cleveland got the best of this deal by far but looks like they are acquiring lots of high dollar guys.
-
Yea...Cleveland wins...I have no idea why Chicago did this. ??? Joe Smith was their most consistent guy.
-
wtf.... everyone in the west got stronger, the Sonics got way weaker... lol... time to rebuild for the future I guess.
Chi-Town, giving up Ben Wallace is a huge plus, giving up Joe Smith is not, but I like their part because Gooden and Hughes should fill in nicely... as for Cleveland, man they had to keep the king happy, and now it looks like LBJ should have his team ready to face the Celtics in the con. finals... I still have money on Boston though.
-
That's gonna cost the Cavs some serious dollas. But their team should become better.
-
i guess chicago really believes in noah after that outburst huh.....
i don't know about this trade, honestly. i mean yeah the cavs got rid of Larry huuuuugecontract. so that's a plus.

What the fuck is this shit?!!?!?!?!

First thing That Came To my Head aswell..^^
But...
Joe Smith will Fit in Great coming Off the bench With The Cavs
Ben Wallace And Z will be A Good Frontline
Wally Szczerbiak, A Good Shooter will Defo Help LeBron out.
Hughes Out Good Move By Cleveland
Drew Gooden Out Good Move By Cleveland
Donyell Marshall Out Good Move By Cleveland
Ira Newble (Good pickup For Seattle)
All In all, Good Flushing Of The Cavs By The FO.
The Overhaul has now been partialy Done, Gave LeBron a Better Frontline.
With Scoring Now Coming off the bench, Loses the Contract Of Hughes
Now, waiting for Anderson V & Gibson To get better for The final stretch.
Cavs Way better for The playoffs Now.

dayumm Cleveland is looking nice!

I'm not so sure how great this trade is for the Cavs. Wally will be a good fit I think but I would never want Ben Wallace (current Ben not Ben from 4 yrs ago) on my team under any circumstance. IMO this deal wont help the Cavs win a title, no chance.
-
I am a Cavs fan. IMO, Wallace and Szerbiak are a better fit with the Cavs than the Bulls, and Hughes is a better fit with the Bulls than the Cavs. I am a little skeptical, but I think this trade will overall be an improvement for the Cavs. Will it put us on the level of the top teams in the west, of coruse not. But given our contract situation this is the best we can do for now.
In 2009 we have 20 million coming off the books so hopefully we can land a stud then.

Real talk. good post, I definitely do agree with that.

any good fantasy picks ups from this trade ya'll think? I was about to pick up nick collison but do you think marshall might affect his pt?
-
i dont know what Chicago was thinking making this.
they traded a shitty contract in Ben Wallace for a shitty contract in Larry Hughes.
and then they also traded their most consistent player in Smith for an inconsistent player in Gooden.
plus the Bulls already have enough guards, they don't need another one who shoots like a mule.
the trade will help the Cavs; Delonte West is pretty decent and probably will get more playing time with them.
Ilgauskus and Wallace will provide a little bit of competition for one another.
Smith is having a good season; and so is Wally, all he needs to do is stay healthy.

Delonte West possibly.
The guard rotation Seattle was messing up his production; he'll probably see more minutes with the Cavs.

damn

delonte's mad underrated. give him a month.

I know they're rebuilding but i'd still like to see a win from time to time yes
