There's a lot of stuff that came out in the early & mid 90's that weren't huge hits like the big names of the decade (Death Row, Ice Cube, Too Short, etc.) I'm trying to think of all the ones to look for, stuff I haven't heard in years, along the lines of:
Hi C - Sittin In The Park
Kam - Peace Treaty
Kausion - What You Wanna Do
Mr. X - Any Ole Sunday
Luniz - Playa Hate
...stuff like that. Feel free to add to the list
-
Luniz - I Got 5 On It
-
U.D.I. - It's Going Down ft. Iyesha
-
Luniz - I Got 5 On It
love that song, but I would consider that one a huge hit. Think more of like songs that got a lot of play out west but didn't blow up nationally (non-Death Row stuff)
-
another example....South Central Cartel - Ya Getz Clowned
-
Boo Yaa Tribe - Psycho Funk
8) 8) 8)
-
anything off Jayo's first 2 albums
-
anything off Jayo's first 2 albums
oh yeah definitely, "Take A Ride" from the 1st album is classic
-
Havoc & Prodeje of S.C.C. - G'z on the Move
D.R.S. - Gangsta Lean
Paperboy - Ditty
These remind me of tha 90's!
-
LOL, DRS was actually from Atlanta, but it's no way that song wasn't West Coast inspired, from the mood to the slang to the content. "This is for my hoomeeeeeys", you KNOW that's some West Coast shit!
I'd say....The Twinz Eastside LB is forgotten or either slept on, and even "Round and Round" is only remembered by old heads.

Man I'm a 90's nut!!!!!!!!! Lil Half Dead a must have just got that one back in the collection!!! Both of SSC albums get those. Paris get all of his up to "Sleeping with the enemy" Spice 1 187 he wrote definite slobber knocker!!! 3 X Krazy EP Sick O Twinz definitely slept on (Warren should've used them beats for return of the regulator) Take it back a taste CPO ballad of a menace Try and find Dru Downs' first album it was done on C note before he got signed to Relativity. It has some Ant Banks heat all over it!!!

Whoa, crazy battlecat beat. Never heard this one before. One of his best. If he laced this beat for a real rapper, instead of little kids, I'd be a classic.
To add some really rare ones:
Dazzie Dee - Unda tha Table, Everyone Wants to Be A Gangsta
Daddy V & DMG - Somethin About My Hood, This Is Why We Do
Above the Law - Call It What U Want
DJ Pooh - Who Cares (ft. Kam)
Gaimboiz - Money (Skee Lo Version)
Gospel Gangstaz - Backslider
King Tee - Dippin (Remix)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UzTcgJCRmGc
L.O.L- Summer Breeze
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8LdgMbsnVU4
Lil Chill- No Brighter Dayz
The list could really go on for dayz but I'll just leave it at that.
-
I Wish - Skee-Lo

By the way, is Mr. X alive or has he been shot?
