Title: I've Never Wanted a Single To Blow Up More Than...
Post by: Lunatic on February 25, 2008, 01:27:29 PM
That new Jay Rock & Lil Wayne single..That shit is amazing, honestly one of the best songs i've heard in years man..That single blowing up would be such a good look for the west and hip hop overall..Its good music, and maybe (if it blows up) artists will realize that u don't ALWAYS have to drop a bullshit poppy single to sell some records...This song would 100% blow up in like 2004/2005, hopefully hip hop and success as an all hasnt CHANGED THAT MUCH since that time :-X  somethin tell me it has..but still, THIS is GOOD MUSIC, and should blow up by all means

My one concern is all the "fuck" words in the Wayne verse..makes it less radio friendly, half his verse on commerical tv/radio will be edited out :-\

can't wait to see the video 8)

No offence, but a lot of times you open a topic it's about a bullshit poppy single.

I agree with you though. This is quality music and needs to be heard. Too bad it won't.

Word. I've probably played this like 100 already and I still haven't got tired of it. The overall vibe is just so fresh.

Any update on this track though ? Like which version got picked to be the official one, are they shooting a video for it... ?

not necessarily. T.I. isn't as poppy as the rest of his mainstream counterparts. The one i'd give you, was the Rocko one :P

jay rock is that nigga..I got a feeling Certified costed $100 to make the video, shit looks like they did it in the bum Dumpster...wtf, song is wack, Akon is wack...0 Creativity,.Akon is so predictable..

But this shit is good, I knew that jay Rock would have some creativity in his shit, unlike G malone, Wayne and jay, i kinda knew it was gonna happen when i saw Jay With Wayne on tour,

I just Pray to God that Street Rydaz feat Akon and Nas wont be as Wack as Certified and 100 Other Akon hooks where u get -Verse-Chorus-Verse-Chorus...God I hate Akon on Rap songs... ???

Ya the songs really Universal, it sounds real gutter with the lyrics and all of that, but it also has a mainstream sound and i can see it getting radio play and if they make a video, i can see it all over BET and MTV. And it got Weezy on there which will attract alot of mafuckas to the song, and the beats made by Cool & Dre and mixed by Quik which is even better, and the hook is done by K-Dot a street dude who also will hopefully get some shine from it, GOD DAMN, wut a line up and whata song, Jay did it right with this shit!!!  8) 8) 8)

But how does it work? For BET and all that to play it people have to vote and shit right? They play to much politics
cuz when fuckin Soulja Boy comes out with a new song they'll prolly play it right on the spot but Jay Rock got a hot ass
track with mostly positive feedback AND he got lil wayne but im sure it wont get played as much.

For those that dont have it, grab both versions from the link below, one with K-Dot on the hook (the first to be released) and the second with Will-I-Am. Top update on the search link below!

I think it was stupid for Jay Rock to release 2 like that, it makes it look really sloppy and all over the place and just confuses people, not us in particular, cause we know whats going on but for other people who dont, he need to get rid of 1 asap!!

I can't do anything but agree with you. "All My Life" is indeed one hell of a good song. Like Meho, I must've played this song about 100 times by now, and I'm still not tired of it. That doesn't happen too often nowadays when listening to rap music.

Yeah, I feel you homie. They've been playing it on Power & shit but I hope they blow it up even more. I've been playin' it over and over for the past few weeks now. I'm glad they decided to not go with the will.i.am one because K-Dot & the other singer on there already had the chorus done good. And Wayne & Jay sound like they had dope chemistry as well as from watching the making of the song. 8)
