By that logic, add Messy Marv (1996), The Jacka (1999), Clyde Carson (2002).
This is part of the problem with West Coast fans. Everyone is caught up in a rapper's age and number of years he's been in the game in determining who should and shouldn't rep the region. Fact of the matter is, hip hop will always be a mixture of old & new school talent, so what's the problem? If the music is hot, then support it. The fans mentality needs to change first and foremost if you want any of these artists to get what they deserve.
Bottom line, seize this moment West Coast fans. Support these niggas and quit trying to knock their hustle. It's going to take a West Coast team to bring any relevance back to the region as a whole. In this case XXL put up 15 niggas that are grinding for your coast at the moment. That's a team of niggas that needs your support. Once they get our support, then they'll be reaching back to them other niggas that didn't make the cut, but should have. I ain't saying you gotta like all these niggas, because that usually ain't the case, but quit trying to tear mothafucka's down that are doing their part in bringing any shine to your favorite region. Lately, though, there've been some tremors out by the San Andeas fault. Snoop's back on top. The Game's playing hardball. Once dormant giants E-40 and Ice Cube are enjoying late-career resurgences. A gang of lesser-known artists, too, are rumbling a seismic shift along the Pacific shelf. Here are 15 rappers and producers starting to quake the earth out in the land where the sun sets.

The actual article name is called "Back In This Bitch"... and if you look carefully, Suga Free is under the caption of "Should've Already Blown".... those are the artists that have had shots but are coming out with new works....

I'm sorry, but for those of you who can't see Crooked I is the future, why not? How is this man not everything a rapper should be? So what dude ain't released an album yet, NOBODY, eastcoast or westcoast, worldwide, can see him when it comes to lyrics. Call me a dickrider or whatever, if that makes you feel better, but Crooked I is the truth.

It's because he's been around for so long and he hasn't dropped an official album yet. Nobody is questioning his lyrical skills but I think his continued delays and his wanting to be a "BOSS" instead of taking a deal as an artist is what get people frustrated with him.

Ya Boy should have been there, but I believe every name on there deserves to be there...and others that were omitted as well. With lists like this you are always going to have disagreements.
No, Keak and Suga Free definetely not. Not that I hate on Suga Free tho, he is a dope rapper to me, I really like his music, but he will never sell or have an impact. He's just the pimp who he always have been.
