These two records are his best records after doggystyle imho......

"No Limit Top Dogg" - definitely, Snoop has showed on this album that he's still a good rapper in 1999, "Tha Last Meal" ain't bangin' like that...
-
rapping - last meal
beats - top dogg
-
Its all about the last meal
-
voted: No Limit Top Dogg
Both are classic, and like you said the best Snoop albums since "Doggystyle".
-
"Last Meal" has a slight edge over "Top Dogg" IMO, Snoops rapping I thought was sharper on "Top Dogg" but overall I l think the production on "Last Meal" carried it for me. His raps on "Last Meal" were a little inconsistent, they would go from extremely dope "Hennessy And Buddah", "Lay Low" to a lttle bit lazy on "True Lies" which is probably the first time I heard Snoop come less than correct on a Dre beat. BTW all 6 Dre beats on these albums were fire.

I'm not sure..
Top Dogg...had 3 Quik Beat..1 dre Beat..plus Meech a few others..
Like The Homie HEC said..Snoop was lyrically more on top Dogg..than he was on Last Meal!
I'd go for Last meal for the Beats..For Lyrics i'd go for top Dogg..
Though some beats on Top Dogg were tite..Like G bed Tim Stores' by Meech Wells, is dope!!!

Mackin, there were 3 Dre ones, "Buckem", "B Please" and "Just Dippin", all of them :o, but I agree with everything you said

Hahah..for some strange reason i always seem to figure those tracks were on 'Last Meal'..
Props on that!!
yeah thse tracks are dope!

Both albums had great producers:
NL Top Dogg:
Dr. Dre
Meech Wells
DJ Quik
Bud'da
Jelly Roll
Ant Banks
KLC (Beats By The Pound)
Even that Goldie Loc produced song ("20 Minutes") was dope, one of my favourite songs from the album.
Tha Last Meal:
Dr. Dre
Battlecat
Meech Wells
Soopafly
Timbaland
Michael Elizondo
Jelly Roll
Scott Storch
You can't go wrong with those producers.

honestly id say theyre about equal. they both have their own good songs and bad songs
-
Sum1 should up the best tracks from both albums in one mix, thatd be dope!
-
Damn people throw around that phrase ``classic album`` way to muck. I consider a classic album one that you can listen to from begging to end without a skip....
My vote is. No Limit Top Dogg
-
Top Dogg=Good
Last meal=great
Top dogg had some hit or miss stuff and ot me It felt Quik gave snoop left over beats.
The beats on last meal were all tight
I used to hate on the GAme is too be sold nt too be told but youll find that hidden in the cluster of No Limit productions there is some small hidden westcoast jewels.
-
top dogg for me
minus all the no limit feature tracks I love the individual tracks more like dippin, buck em, bedtime stories, doin too much, 20 minutes, bitch please, snoopafella...

Yeah they are. If I had to be put on the spot about it, I would have to say Tha Last Meal. I blew out subs to that album, production was incredible on that and lyrically I feel like it was a upgrade from Topp Dogg. But I think from start to finish Topp Dogg is listenable throughout if that makes sense. Last Meal tailed off a little bit towards the end but ended with a bang with Yall Gon Miss Me.
-
Just dippin'...........that my shit
-
im surprised so many ppl voted for tha last meal, i voted for top dogg!
Me too. I think most people must like something different about westcoast rap than I do. I like those smooth productions which Top Dogg brings to the table over Last Meal IMO.

Tha Last Meal by a mile for me. A classic album and Snoops second best after Doggystyle.
I was heavily into The Chronic, Doggystyle and Murder Was The Case OST back in 1993-94 and was disappointed by Tha Doggfather. Da Game Is To Be Sold was terrible and I lost interest in Snoop. No Limit Top Dogg was a big step up, but I rarely listen to that album today, while Tha Last Meal still gets regular spins. Snoop is on fine form and the overall sound of the album is great - probably somewhat due to Dre's mixing capabilities.

"No Limit Top Dogg" to me and it's not even that close. There are some songs on "The Last Meal" I really like, but some I also didn't really care for. The production on some of the tracks on "The Last Meal" just wasn't for me. Also, I like Kokane, but I could have done without having him on nearly every song on the album. On the other hand, with "No Limit Top Dogg" if I can't really remember disliking a single song on the album.
-
No Limit Top Dogg
It was basicly when Snoop had just ended his Pimped-Out character and came back to his gangsta rap roots. Some people might like Last Meal more since it's got a DPG vibe to it as opposed to the No Limit + DPG vibe NLTD has, but it was still the first time Snoop & Dre collaborated since leaving Death Row plus one of the first times Snoop worked with Quik. Plus the album introduced a lot of people to the Xzibit backed by the Aftermath & DPG clique.
-
the whole point of the album title no limit top dog was for snoop to say his the top dog not ygd top dogg of deathrow the aim to destroy any hope for ygd
-
For me, its Tha Last Meal hands down.
Tha Last Meal just seemed like a very cohesive album and snoop seemed to have great chemistry with Kokane on that album. I mean the first track Hennessy and Buddah just sets the table.

Tha Top Dogg had some heaters for sure but the album seems more sporadic. It reminds me too much of "No-Limit" Snoop whereas just from the cover of Tha Last Meal you knew it was on.
-
both of them is wack.
-
very hard but i would take the last meal
-
both of them is wack.
lay off the smack, dog

No Limit Top Dogg

the pimped out character didnt even really start until paid the cost when he started hanging around don juans ass all the time...between snoops NL debut and no limit topp dogg he was actually pretty low profile.
-
I thought Doggfather was better than both of those but they were cool also.
-
None of those albums have a combination that can fuck with The Vapors, Gold Rush, Downtown Assassins, Bluberry, Sixxx Minutes. Not to mention other tight party shit like Doggfather, Groupie, Upside your head but i also like No Limit and Last meal. The only thing better from those is the beats but the Doggfather was a more RAW/Underground feel IMO.
-
I think the Dre tracks were better on NLTD but overall consistency wise The Last Meal was better. I mean start to finish Last Meal flowed better and there was less songs I would skip. Also wasn't a big fan of Lay Low beat.
-
Last Meal is much better, but Top Dogg is dope too 8)
-
Both very dope albums but I'll go with No Limit Top Dogg. Can't go wrong with production handled by Quik & Dre.
