Title: What Are The Best Jedi Mind Tricks Songs To Put On One CD?
Post by: TraceOneInfinite on March 08, 2008, 09:46:10 PM
Basically, I've given up on hip-hop, and declared hip-hop dead.  Most all of the hip-hop I listen to on my ipod is old 90's hip-hop.  But Blade hooked me up with 5 Jedi Mind Tricks tracks last year, and  I've been listening to them on my Ipod ever since.  So I wanted to check out some of their other tracks, but don't know where to start... so if someone here could list their 10 best songs, or the songs you would have if you could make a greatest hits CD of theirs so I can check them out.

What I would really prefer is if some of ya'll could put a list of their 10 best songs.  Like 1-10.

Jedi mind tricks suck, vinnie paz is an extremist and doesn't know what hes talking about. He's also suffering from obesity.

get Shadow Business, Into the arms of angels, Uncommon Valor, On the eve of war (Meldrick Taylor mix), Rage of angels.

Most of jedi mind tricks songs are based around extremist muslim lyrics, dissing other good rappers such as talib kweli, swearing to jesus (even though vinnie paz sais he uses jesus as a metaphor for current day Christians high positions, but hes just trying to cover up the shit he just made).

But those songs I listed are pretty good songs, out of most of the ones ive listened to, anyway hope you've found what you wanted

If you can get your hands on the instrumental for this that would work as well... but the music is amazing on this one

Uncommon Valor is easily one of the sickest things they ever put out, thanks to RA the Rugged Man.

Thanks, but neither of you did what I suggested.  I'm looking for a list of the best songs.  Most the tracks Blade hooked me up with are FIRE!  I was wonderin if they had any other great songs.  Blade hooked me up with...

-"Uncommon Valor" (Vietnam song)-  R.A. Rugged Man absolutely kills this track, I need to check out more of his stuff.
-"Savior Self"
-"Serenity in Murder"
-"Shadow Business"
-"Razorblade Salvation"-  This  may be their best song out of what I heard so far
-"The Rage of Angels"

..."Razorblade Salvation" is so sick man, Vinnie Paz is writin a letter to his mom, explainin to her how he's sorry that the last letter made her cry, and by the end of the song he decides against killing himself.. the hook is off the chain ("your the one who's losin!").

I also love the track with Killah Priest about Egyptology, Vinnie Paz is a great rapper to me because he's can bring conscious lyrics without soundin soft, he kills every verse.

of course, thats why it is perfect for self loathing, muslim white guy bryan!

Big mistake not to include Violent by Design. Heavenly Divine is their best track, overall, to me. Plus the whole CD beats most of those tracks.

Props man... this was what I was really looking for.  My only complaint would be it's too long, you can't fit 25 tracks on a CD.  12 would of been better.

I checked out this song today, "Heavenly Divine"... they say, "Shine in 99" on the track.  Didn't realize they've been around that long.  Track was bangin... I don't know if it's their best song, but it's definitely solid.  "Razorblade Salvation" and "Uncommon Valour" are still their best work, in my opinion.

I also checked out "I who have nothing" video on youtube.  I was feelin it.  I knew Vinnie Paz was a Muslim, but I didn't realize this other dude in the crew was white... guess now I identify with them even more.

I didnt include any VBD as taking any track from there and placing it in a mix cd doesent seem right. Basically want im trying to say is that VBD is so good that it deserves to be listened to in whole.

That works man.  Your tracks I can check out over the net, and download for my ipod...and I will probably go out and buy VBD album so that I can support them for making real hip-hop.

After sampling Jus Allah, I definitely have to say that Jedi Mind Tricks, Jus Allah, and their affiliates are holding down the underground and representing real hip-hop.

word.... if this was the late 80's or early to mid-90's these cats would be leading the way in hip-hop, but instead you got to scratch beneath the surface, and I haven't spent much time searching over the last few years I've been to busy.  But I need to catch up on what I missed.

Anyway... I found those two tracks, and I also downloaded another one of their tracks featuring Vinnie Paz, so I'll come back on later and give you a review.

Peace

I agree Vinnie Paz is a fucking jerk, but JMT can be entertaining.

Anyways, one of my favs is that one "On the Eve of War" version, but I don't know by which name it goes, it's the one with the acoustic-guitar style backdrop and a beat that sounds immensely peaceful, and I just kinda love the absurdity of Vinnie coming into that and talking shit like he's trying to make it onto a Necro album :D

I've been getting into more of their work.  Most all said that Violent By Design is their best album, but I think Servants In Hell, Kings In Heaven is their best album and contains their greatest tracks.  But I need to hear more of Violent By Design to be sure.
