Title: What happened to R&B?
Post by: R1ZE on March 09, 2008, 03:14:28 PM
Remember Blackstreet, R. Kelly, Janet Jackson, Ginuwine, Timbaland, Missy Elliot, Jon B, Aaliyah, etc. running the radio?

You barely even hear upbeat r&b anymore these days... unless its chris brown or t-pain

Anyway, I wasn't as into music then as I am now, so recc. me some late 90's club r&b

Donell Jones
Lyfe Jennings

Yeah but today's R&B is still better than today's Hip Hop.

Ain't Janet number 1 on the charts wit her album right now, followed by Erykah Badu..

R&B as sum1 pointed out is selling more than rap, i think that has alway been the case.
However most R&B right now are sounding a lot like rap..so it's hard to tell the difference...you Know..

However when i'm listening to Joe,B.McKnight and others i know i'm listening to Soul music  the lighter and more importantly the true essence of R&B..IMO!
