I heard that there is a 3rd version of California love, i also heard that Cali Love was supposed to be on the Chronic 2 but suge talked dre out of it. I also heard that is was oringinally goin be dre an ice cube or ice cube an 2pac. Can some1 help me out with this
-
Yeah Suge took it off Dres album that was suppose to drop and Ice Cube had a part in it but he was taken off it too.
-
nah it wasn't cali love cubes verses were taken from that was U Cant See Me, but the rest is the same, it was meant for Helter Skelter.
-
i read that cali love was gon be the first single from Chronic 2 on death row, it was originally 3 dre verses but suge 'made' him let pac get on there for one verse and replace the last with ad libs.
overseer is right, cant see me was a track originally for helter skelter
-
Yeah my bad.
-
that's crazy, i wish chronic 2 would've dropped because who knows what would of happened if it did
-
It would of probably been just like The Chronic since Dre had the same style back then.
-
I wish 'Helta Skelta' woulda dropped...
-
I wish the chronic 2 would have came out and DR never fell apart. Could you imagine Dre and Snoop still on deathrow and having them expand to have eastcoast artist, as well as west coast artist. That would be tight.
-
If it was still around today, Death Row would be bigger than Def Jam (pleezbalevit)
-
Can you imagine Dre sitting next to Pac in the seat of that car? I bet he woulda been daed to and we all woulda wished he moved on to another Record Company...
-
this is the steezy on "california Love" and "can't c me"
Dre had both beats down before pac even signed with the row
he went to jail for 8 months and had to put the "helter skeltor" project" with Ice Cube off Indefinatly (they cancled it)
Dre got out and Suge and him were discussing his next project while Dre was mixing "dogg food" Dre and Suge decided that dre should put out his second solo effort tenativly titled "Chronic 2", California Love was going to be Snoop Dre AND Cube, but Suge talked to Dre and said somthin along the longs of "hey we just signed 2pac and he needs a major song to hype up his album and california love would be perfect, dre agreed to release the original version for a video but a remix of the song would appear on pac's album and the original would wind up on the chronic 2, 2pac wrote all the words on California Love except the chorus, in 20 minuites, Can't C me was originally another beat for "chronic 2" also , i'm not sure if suge talked him into producing it for pac or it was just a dre leftover he gave him....
-
I doubt he woulda been rollin with Pac. They weren't friends.
-
Can't C Me was originally intended for Helter Skelter, it had Cube and Dre trading verses with George Clinton on the hook.
-
dre and pac hung around each other a lil bit they shot 2 music videos with each other and recorded 2 songs together, pac didn't turn on dre til dre left the row
and yeah my bad i meant to say Can't C me was a Helter Skelter Left over, which was going to be on "the chronic 2"
-
Yeah they worked together but they weren't real good friends. Just a business relationship.
-
Shit, I have this Dogg Pound song titled, "Can't C Me" with George Clinton on the hook. It sounds like a Dre beat, but niether Cube or Dre are on it.
-
Different Song... Hey, Another Interesting Thing...
California Love Is Always Listed As "Tupac Featuring Dr. Dre".... Now, We All Know That's Twisted...
Last Year, When The Marshall Mathers LP Dropped, They Had A Thing ON Mtv Called EmTV
Eminem Hosted It, And Introduced Some Videos... His Favorites. One Was California Love, And He Said
"Tupac Featuring Dr. D,... Nah, Fuck That, Dr. Dre Featuring TUPAC! - California Love"
That Was So Fuckin' Right To See Him Finally Correct That Shit.... Everytime I Saw It Listed As That I Got Pissed.
-
OOooooWeeeeeee
Safe to Em fo that
Imagine Snoop on Cali love!
IMMORTALITY if he had been on that
-
damn i never knew snoop was sposed to be on it, that would have been incredible.
i got my info that it was a dre solo track from that ronin ro book, so is that completely wrong info?
-
Damn, Snoop, Dre and Cube...That shit woulda been the next "Nutthin But a G Thang"....
