This is kinda bitin' off Infinite's post but Which coast got the best producers and can someone list the producers from each side. Here is mine:
West Coast
- Dre
- Warren G
- Battlecat
- DJ Quik
East Coast[/u]
- RZA
- Puffy
- Premier (had to add him on. Its a shame I forgot him.)
South[/u]
- Mannie Fresh
- The Neptunes
I think the West got the best production since its my favorite type. East comes with a close second.
-
I cant belive you forgot the greatest East Coast Producer...DJ Premier....Also Daz and Meech for the West...The West is 20 times better overall...
-
No fucking contest
"bangin ass beats and lyrical escapades/the principles on which the fuckin west was made/
the west scene started when too $hort came and started rappin about pimpin/now you can find him and the oakland homeys steadily ballin and dippin/then came NWA with the gunshots and settrippin/then came snoop and dre with that gin and juice sippin/
the west always done things that haven't been experimented/hell mutafuckin yeah we're demented/anything you got to offer? we've experienced it/ and our skill? You can't be nearin it kid/still some don't wanna feel the real/still some don't wanna respect the west/the best no less/the coast with the most/ of that p-funk/and g-funk/and hell yeah we-funk/hope you know we ain't not just knee deep punk/and we want/ to express are representment/no repentance/to the westness/to the fullest/tired of the bullshit/cuz these days to say the least/to we'se/the east be's the dullest"-Tanjint,Dub(W)
some quotes from one of my songs, i think it suits the post, whatcha think? peace-Tanjint
-
Yeah it's not even close
easily the west
-
definately the west....but you forgot outkast as producers with organized noize
-
outkast as producers are known as "earth tone"
for the east you gotta add:
Swizz Beats
alchemist
pete rock
necro
teckinic
erick sermon
timbaland and Rockwilder under:Other, since they don't have any kinda caost sound
for the west you gotta add:
sir jinx
dj muggs
mel man (even though he's from philly)
soopafly
-
Yeah I know my list is messed up. I had do make it real quick and leave for awhile.
But like Tanjint was sayin, the West is very original in all aspects, lyrically, beat-wise and other places. The East got some nice production. I forgot about people like Alchemist and Tecknic
And I didn't know Outkast went under a different name when they produced. I learned somethin new today. ;D
-
I gotta go with the west.
I can bump East Coast instumentals but not as much as the West.
Also y'all forgot Havoc for the East.
-
GOTTA BE THE WEST NO DOUBT 8)
-
Big Jake so are EARTHTONE III - Outkast?
Westsiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiide!
-
ay dont forget about these beatmakers from the best coast
Big Hutch / Cold 187um
Fred Wreck
DJ Slip
Blaqtovin
and of course my homie FLAWLESS
-
Fred Wreck drops nothing but dynamite!
-
you can kinda call meech wells west coast since he works with snoop alot even though he's from Motown (detroit)
-
yeah earthtone III is dre, big boi, and some other guy from the dungeon fam....
-
Don't Forget All The Dope Ass Up And Comers On The West...
Scott Storch
Blaqthoven
Fredwreck
And D-Lux From Bay Mob Records! I Didn't Forget Ya....LOL....
-
Oh, I Noticed Mr.Loc Already Mentioned Blaq And Fred ... Sorry... LOL
-
I like the east and west equally. I'm not too big on the south as I am for east and west. I don't really think the west is much better then the east and vice versa. If anything the east has more top name producers. Also I think many people would consider timberland a east coast producer. Big up for jake, for saying pete rock. You can't forget about him. Anybody hear petestrumentals yet?
-
East and West are definitely even when it comes to the production. The South got that ghetto production which is their trademark in my opinion.

There I fixed the Puffy situation.
-
Timberland is from Virgina, and works with Atlanta artist, so I guess you can consider him south. Plus P Diddy was rank number 1 by the Source some time ago for producing, and if he can ever pull off another Ready To Die, he'd be back being mentioned. And were is D.J. U-Neek of Bone fame. His straight outta L.A. and Ant Banks of Oakland fame. there are a couple more westcoast producers. Oh and a producer named Damon Grease produced most of DMX's better songs, not Swizz, Swizz is just someone Ruff Ryder used as the main producer because of his only good song, Ruff Ryder's Anthem
-
Oh, and if Yella is up, then the Bomb Squad should be up there as old school eastcoast producers. After all it was the Bomb Squad that made Ice Cube's AmeriKKKa'z Most Wanted a classic, besides Ice Cube at his extreme best.

I just got a bad memory y'all.
-
Theres no need to memorize shit..Its right on ya screen in fron of ya eyes...
-
Look at the line-up the West got. Its unbelievable.
-
The West has the best producers. I would also like to add Johnny J to the list of Westcoast producers. He has made some tight beats.
-
Bottom line here is that nearly all of us like the W Coast sound more than ne thing else so we're bound to choose the W Coast producers as the best
Safe
-
I already have Johnny J. I forgot to add Soopafly to the list too.

How can you test/ the west/ with the east?/We eat the rest/ we the best/When it comes to the beats/ Imagine the east is a meal and the west was a beast/Like a fat muthafucka it's time to feast/and move the east/out the place/with ya mind like tella-conice/Who else can lace?/Beats fulla peace?/The east is waste/Peace
