I just wish he'd make songs for the fans and stop trying to blow up....seems lately he's just been jumping on whatever's hot at the moment (Chingy back in the day, Dre/Aftermath, Fixxers when south rap was hot, now snoop).  Too bad he can't stay true to himself and make music like he wants to make it ie Rhythmalism and Balance and Options.  He might not sell a million albums, but it'll be good music.  It's clear that's what he has the most fun doing.  Let's face it, Quik's never gonna be a household name like snoop.....Warren G does the same thing.

sounds good, I should teach him not to look at his feet and sway his hips from side to side when on TV while his cheeks are bright red

How is Quik working with Chingy not being true to himself?

Well I can't explain 'wack the Fixxers were then'..cuz i didn't feel their music was wack!
It was surprisingly Fresh! Different, i believe if they had  worked on it and moved on from what they had started it would have broaden to something unique!!

Snoop should be happy he gets to work with someone as dope on the beats as Quik, I'd say Quik is more well respected as a producer than Snoop is as an MC, especially now a days

Well, with the Warren G thing, I just meant changing his music style....like he used to shout G-funk til I die, etc. etc.  He's one of the pioneers of it.  Then after I Want It ALl, and Return of the Regulator didn't sell, seems like he just gave up on G-Funk.  now he's changed his whole music style.  Listen to Midnight Hour, he's got "Make It Do What It Do", which sounds just like Snoops single he did with the Neptunes, and Wheels Keep Spinning sounding just like some Kanye West stuff.  And this new song just posted, "Virgins", that sounds nothing like Warren used to do.  And then the whole celebrity fit club thing.  I understand artists growing and not using the same formula over and over, but just seems like Warren's all about trying to be a  star at any cost.  And i'm a big Warren G fan, I hate to see it this way.  Just seems like he's throwing whatever he can against the wall hoping something will stick.  I did like "Walk These Streets" off of Midnight Hour though...that had shades of the old Warren.

You just should precise that it's among the "hardcore west coast fans", Snoop is widely known all over the world which is not the case for Dj Quik. Quik is dope of course, I am not judging, just showing some facts.

No disrespect because I ain't got no beef with nobody and I respect each one's opinion but I don't think that speaking bad on west rappers will entail other things that negativity... I am maybe wrong but to me the goal of a forum is not comparing and taking part of beefs that are out of our business, but being kept in touch with what's new and keeping an ear on the throwback music that makes us feel good.

Maybe you will disagree but that was my point!

No, not just amongst "hardcore west coast fans", just any hiphop fan who knows anything about beats and MCing - Quik is a better producer than Snoop is an MC

And sure Snoop is more well known, but so is Souljah Boy, so is Britney Spears, so are a lot of things that are mad wack - I'm talking about how respected they are to people who actually have a clue, not whether 9 year olds girls know who they are and are singing their song in the playground or whatever

I don't know how you manage to compare the production work and the Mcing work, I agree that Snoop flows is a little disapointing next to his other albums but on the other side he proves that he is able to sing and be more melodic... When it sounds good to the ears I don't go further and I enjoy i, but everyone has its own mind.

PS: Holla at me when Britney drops Doggystyle 2 ;)

I have to agree with you my old friend. I've taken plenty of pics with Quik as of late and he's always smiling. Plus, if I was on someone's CD and it was in my best interests to promote it for my own financial being, I would throw on a T-Shirt promoting it too!

Cause I was at one of his concerts in november.. at the key club.. And he had mentioned mixing the whole snoop record.. And mentioned he was gonna work on terraces album 2.. But the point I'm making.. Is the reaction that u seen on fatherhood.. Wasn't realy him surprised.. He had already known.. But yeah I mean who wouldn't be happy.. I can't believe what I'm readin' from some of ya'll. Man Quik is a pioneer in this shit. He has taken so many risks in this shit. Some worked (Truth hurts) others didn't( Fixxers) cats that ain't into producing can't feel it. I'm into that shit. I could see what he was tryin to do, but teamed up with AMG wasn't the right blend. Musically he's a G E N U I S he's got an ear like Dre does. On the mic he can rip like a mufuka. Listen to  his latest shit he flows like no tomorrow. How many fools out there produce, mix, DJ, rap(write his own shit) , dance (Bdance)  come on now stop the Bullshit and Pay homage to an I mufukin' CON
