Title: Has any pitcher fallen off harder then Barry Zito ?
Post by: herpes on March 17, 2008, 07:23:24 PM
I know its only spring training, but this is bad... this is really bad lol

Barry Zito has faced 67 hitters and hasn't generated a single strikeout. He has allowed 10 walks, 21 hits, four homers and a 14.92 ERA. Keep in mind that he has six years remaining in his current contract.

Ichiro started off 0-21 or some shit, hopefully it'll wear off before the season...I'm happy to hear that about Zito though

Everyone saw this coming from a mile away. It only gets worse from here, Giants fans.

As long as they batter the Giants, I can live with that.

But all jokes aside, the Dodgers are due for their decade/every-other decade championship run.

Just the smart fans. I remember getting laughed at here for saying that Zito isn't going to pitch like he was in his early years with the A's

I still remember cringing when I first read the contract they gave him. I hate the giants, but yet I feel so bad for them lol.

Yes, other pitchers have fallen off harder (Rick Ankiel), but I don't want to talk about it. Good news for him is that he set the bar so low, that if he comes in and has a decent season, fans will be so excited.

^^But he has struggled in the postseason, and got no rings.

By the way, Zito is coming back strong this year, his record won't be great because of weak run support, but his E.R.A. will be solid.

true, considering the $$$ he gets paid, he should bat higher than .230 (since joining the yanks) in the postseason...especially when his lifetime avg in the regular season is .306...im not taking anything away from him..he is the best offensive player in the game..but he needs to step it up when october comes around.

If Mariano would have gotten that final out vs the Red Sox, A-Rod would have his ring already and most likely become the team's best player in the playoffs.
