Dubcnn: Let's get back to the Dogg Pound album though. You producing on it Daz?

Daz: Oh yeah, I produced it all!

Dubcnn: You said Pete Rock, Denaun, Soopafly, Swizz Beatz...

Daz: And the rest is by yours truly!
;D

Quote
Dubcnn: How would you compare this record to the last one, "Dogg Chit"?

Daz: We was rushing the Dogg Chit, but this album right here is more of a smoother path.

Kurupt: This is more like that Dogg Food shit,
:nawty: last time they said it was actually picking up from were they left with Dogg Food(for Dogg Chit), in other words, promotion talk

oh well, i'm mainly looking forward to Kurupt's project with Hi-Tek.

Yep!

Dope interview, interesting as always, props

Is it just me or does Daz always come across like he's just in it to make a quick buck off gullible fans by rushing out a billion albums? And he always seems to be talking in marketing speak... I think 50 fucked himself over by doing something similar, saying in every interview how he's reaching this market with this song, and that market with that song... kinda insulting to the fans who actually want some good music rather than a marketing exercise

Kurupt seems more on the ball, at least he's trying to slow down the relentless output of sub-standard product

Also - why are Daz beats never on Snoop albums (when was the last Snoop album that had a Daz beat?).... so he gets to be the back-up dancer at shows, but his beats aren't allowed within 500 feet of a Snoop album? Weird... it can't be because they aren't good enough either because Snoop always let's 2-3 no-name producers get beats on his albums
Title: Re: DUBCNN: Exclusive Interview With Tha Dogg Pound Up Now!!
Post by: Mackin on March 19, 2008, 07:44:06 AM
^^well it may just be down to the fact that Snoop may not want a Daz beat on his Album...Nothing more nothing Less..
Daz can make Beats, Snoop knows this..Snoop is as far as i can tell always giving opportunity to 'non-name' producer a chance to shine, by putting their works on his album

I did Daz had a beat on The Game is To Be Sold Album..

Gotta say that Kurupt is sounding smooth on these tracks.

"Hoez, Money And Clout" was that track. I think Daz coproduced it with Soopa if I remember.

i think the history of death row has been discussed more than enough times... and to be honest with you, i have the feeling that some of you fans have more information on death row shit than the artists do themselves LOL.

LOL thats true. I'm pretty sure alot of these old tracks that we have the artists havent heard in years. I remember you playing one for Snoop in an interview when BCT dropped that he wanted, the one when he got pretty heated when talking about "Round Here" and Em.

i'm coo' on these clowns. every time they got a new record it's like 'oh this is on some dogg food shit.' every time it's like 'oh that OTHER album was rushed...this NEW one's well put together.'

and i speak from bitter experience. when dogg chit came out, i searched heaven and hell trying to find a copy of the version with the extra tracks and shit and was hella disappointed.

when i recently rebought my copy of DY+G the brand new copy was so poorly manufactured it already skipped right out the packaging.

meanwhile half the projects they announce don't drop, don't have distribution deals and they STILL ain't sent the homey d-nice his shirt!

i'm a nice guy though. last time they had shit droppin' (digital smoke, dogg chit) I bought those records before downloading ANYTHING cause I was that loyal of a fan. this time, i'm a download it all from you cats and if its worth it I MIGHT go buy it.

although this interview was worth it for this alone from Kurupt:

"I'm gonna be dropping these things annually, like every 2 months' LMAO it's all good, i've observed alot of people don't know what 'annually' means lately.

I bought Bangin Westcoast as a digital download when it first came out. Soopa did a bulletin saying that the first 100 or so orders would get the original DPG t-shirts that came out around the Dillinger & Young Gotti album with the 2 dog heads on it. Never got my shirt.

meanwhile half the projects they announce don't drop, don't have distribution deals and they STILL ain't sent the homey d-nice his shirt!

i'm a nice guy though. last time they had shit droppin' (digital smoke, dogg chit) I bought those records before downloading ANYTHING cause I was that loyal of a fan. this time, i'm a download it all from you cats and if its worth it I MIGHT go buy it.

although this interview was worth it for this alone from Kurupt:

"I'm gonna be dropping these things annually, like every 2 months' LMAO it's all good, i've observed alot of people don't know what 'annually' means lately.

-T

Yeah fuck Tha Dogg Pound! Daz ain't sent me my shirt! Fat bastard. I had forgot about that till you said something.  ;D

Just kidding. I was not expecting it anyway when I bought Bangin Westcoast but I understand what you are saying though.

LOL good to see Tanj posting again, D you ordered a shirt from Daz? I heard Daz is selling his recycled verses these days too ;D

I bought Bangin Westcoast as a digital download when it first came out. Soopa did a bulletin saying that the first 100 or so orders would get the original DPG t-shirts that came out around the Dillinger & Young Gotti album with the 2 dog heads on it. Never got my shirt.

that logo was dope, would've been nice if Daz respected his real fans, the 20 of us who bought "Gangsta Party"

Put me in that 20 too.  ;D

i'm coo' on these clowns. every time they got a new record it's like 'oh this is on some dogg food shit.' every time it's like 'oh that OTHER album was rushed...this NEW one's well put together.'

and i speak from bitter experience. when dogg chit came out, i searched heaven and hell trying to find a copy of the version with the extra tracks and shit and was hella disappointed.

when i recently rebought my copy of DY+G the brand new copy was so poorly manufactured it already skipped right out the packaging.

yeah hopefully his next album continues this pattern, I don't really consider "Gangsta Party" a true Daz solo, no production from Daz and too many guests on every track
