Just months after rapper Pimp C's shocking death in a hotel room due to sleep apnea complications and an accidental codeine overdose, the self-proclaimed greatest rapper alive, Lil' Wayne, refuses to put his cup of codeine-laced drink down.
"I can step out here right now and my bus can flip over so I ain't worrying about health risks and all that," Wayne told Westwood Radio recently.
The rapper has made no bones about the contents of the cup he's always seen carrying around. It's a mixture of soda and/or alcohol and prescription-strength codeine, which is the main ingredient in the popular illegal beverage, "sizzurp."
"I pour it up for Pimp C, I pour it up for Bun B, I pour it up for young me, ya dig?"
As SOHH previously reported, but Bun B had already layed off the syrup himself, and after losing his friend and UGK group mate to the popular prescription-strength codeine concoction, he's even erased it from his lyrics.
"I had had a verse on this album (II Trill) about sizzurp and just all things considered with my personal situation; I thought it would've been in poor taste for me to do a song talking about drinking syrup but that's just me," Bun B told SOHH.
He also noted that neither he, nor anyone else, can make Wayne stop drugging.
"If Wayne chooses to stop at some point that'll be Wayne's decision," Bun said.
Bun B couldn't even tell the Young Money Millionaire to put the cup down.
"If [Pimp C] was here he'd probably tell me don't, and [to] stop, but I mean ... Rest in peace Pimp C," Wayne said. "I am an Underground King, sorry."
And if the syrup does take him out? "Just honor me like they honor him [Pimp] and that'll be great enough for me, especially peace to Pimp," he said refilling his cup. "I'm pourin' up right now for you, homie. I promise I am."

its his choice, but to say he does it for pimp is in poor taste

This strikes me as sad. What I read into this is that Wayne is addicted but is justifying his addiction by claiming it's a 'tribute' to Pimp C.
That's like an alcoholic saying "I won't stop drinking - this one's for my man George Best."
(UK peeps get what I mean.)

homie is gonna end up the next dead rapper...

The way I see it, and I may be wrong, but at the pace he's been going nowadays, Wayne wants to die. He probably thinks that since he's the hottest and most anticipated artist at the moment that this will somehow solidify his legacy and put him in the same category as Pac & Biggie. I think he cherishes the fact that people would build a shrine in his memory the way they do for Pac & Biggie. Wayne is on the verge of self-martyrdom. This could also explain why he's constantly in the studio recording non-stop nowadays. He wants to leave a ton of unreleased music behind the way Pac did.
Think about it, Pac & Biggie were the 2 biggest names in hip hop when they went. Wayne is just following the same mold, only he's going a different route by way of self-destruction.

It really wouldn't surprise me, and that's sad. He talks a lot of shit and he's not even close to being as good a rapper as he or his fans make out, but there's something goofily likeable about Wayne and his ridiculous egotism. If he had someone behind him (pause) to steer his career effectively, he'd be set. Instead I think he's destined to be an addict-slash-artist who doesn;t reach his full potential.
EDIT: Posted before I read pootypooty's post, but I agree with that also.

gay ass rapper, he's not anticipated, people just anticipate the day he'll come out the closet fucking faggot wack ass rapper

word...i like dude but he needs to focus. he can drop a hot verse and then the next one he's mumblin incoherently and laughin like a dumbass the next. with the buzz he has, he's got to capitalize. he's over saturating the game to the point where i dont even check for him and expect a wack verse( he ruined that Glasses Certified remix imo).

Come to think of it, why isn't Baby speaking out on this? Is he not concerned? Then it dawned on me that Baby is to Wayne what Diddy was to Biggie and Suge to Pac. Baby knows he's gonna hit the jackpot if Wayne dies early. Sad but true.
-
damn. its obvious he has a drug problem, i mean, yall seen those videos floating around..and the people around him could care less cause they gettin rich off it...and if he did die, they would get even richer. and he is only 25!!..its fucking sad.
oh well, he is a grown ass man, and as long as he doesnt hurt anyone else then more power to him, if he wants to die at the peak of his career and not enjoy the fruits of his 'labor', then so be it.

Thats too brilliant for Lil Wayne. The guy is a fuckin moron. If you're on top of the world like he is, why even chance on losing it all? It'd be funny if his stupid ass died with flu like symptoms.

prob the same reason why he didngt speak out when BG was on heroin.

The guy's gotta be mentally retarded or close to it. Instead of taking his career to the next level, he's getting more and more pathetic, I agree with the notion that he maybe wants to die young and leave what he considers a 'legacy'.
He still hasn't had a breakout hit as a solo artist. He's built his career off other people's songs. I'm not saying he has no talent, but you've gotta be ridiculous if you land spots on Kanye's latest joint AND Jay-Z's and you fail to bring your A-game.
