...And I'd say it is safe to say that it is definitely a classic West Coast album (along with Balance & Options and the Konnectid Project with Mausberg (RIP) & Suga Free). "You'z A Ganxta", "So Many Wayz", "We Still Party", "Speed", "Down, Down, Down", & "Medley For A V" are classic joints in their own right (and also got me into Quik at the young age of 11 when they dropped. I still remember being in the 4th and 5th grade and loving these tracks).
It was also good to see Quik talking about the beef with Eiht and extend an offer to get together on a track (I'd still like to see them collab currently on a track, especially since Eiht is with Snoop as well as the Quiksta himself), as well as the track "Get 2Getha Again" with Hi-C, AMG, & 2nd II None to show that they were all together again (at least at the time. Right now it's too confusing to figure out who is with who. It's a shame they all can't squash their differences & just come out with dope music but, it is what it is).

Props on the thread. We must continue to respect the classics. It came out 10 years ago, but I only first heard it about 1-2 years ago myself (when I did Quik's discography). It definitely is a west coast, but I'd go as far to call it a musical classic really.
I LOVE We Still Party, So Many Wayz, Hand In Hand, Down Down Down, You'z a Ganxta, I Use'ta Know Her, No Doubt, Thinkin' Bout U, Medley For a V & Get 2Getha Again. All classic joints 8)
props on the thread once again.

Yeah a very dope album. Melodic is the first word I think of when I hear that album. Like I was saying before, when Snoop was explaining the whole R&G concept, Quik was really the first producer that came to mind to do something like that with him and this album to me could have been a example of some beats Snoop could do that style on. Smooth as fuck, too many favs to name. I can play it front to back without skipping.

+1 to y'all. 8)

^I'd say it is musically also. I mean...Safe + Sound was out of the box, but this album...was WAAAAAAAAAY outside the box. Case in point: the track "Whateva U Do".

^Yeah, nobody else was coming out with songs like this. Either that or they were just too scared to do it. Either way, Quik set the standard & I doubt anyone can come close to this or Balance & Options.

10 years in november nigga. I was gunna make a thread about that the best hip-hop album ever made then.
-
DJ Quik was the first muthafucker to do gangsta shit with R&B.

This album is in my Top 10 of all time!!

West coast classic! depends on what mood I am in but its between this and "Safe And Sound" for my favorite Quik album, I thought "Rhythm-a-lism" was a bit more musical and "Safe" a bit more on the gangsta side of Quik but definitely deserves to be praised! I listen to it straight through as well

^Same with me. And +1 again to y'all who just got in here.
I consider Quik's classic trilogy of albums to be: S+S, Rhythm-al-ism & B&O. Those are undoubtedly classics.
This is OT, but another album I consider a '98 classic is Daz's RR&GB. Mack 10's "The Recipe" I would include also.

I'm surprised everyone likes Rythm-al-ism. I wasn't really feelin this cd. It has its moments but just not really into it as much as his other cds. I would say these are my top 3 from him:
Quik Iz The Name
Safe & Sound
Way 2 Fonky

^It's all good, we all got our own opinions. Now if it came to someone saying Rhythm-al-ism was complete garbage, then I'd have problems with it. 8)

Anyway, I like that cover. It's some kind of an original old school cover 8). But I understand there is somebody who doesn't like it.

yep exacly.
That album is so rich, the mixing, producing is tight he realy took it to another level. If yuo compare this record to Safe and sound and i love safe and sound you can hear the sound of this record being a lot more thick and richer.

^I agree. Safe + Sound set it off, but Rhythm-al-ism, in terms of its' sound & clarity, is miles ahead. 8)
