I imagine you've all heard that he's coming out with a book and says that A-Rod came to him regarding steroids. What's your take?
Mike Tirico was talking about it on his radio show, and he was interviewing Martin Bashir (famous interviewer) who talked to Canseco this week... Bashir says that Canseco didn't provide any substantive evidence, but that Canseco had a guy "Max" in his back pocket who could prove everything he was saying. Tirico asked him point blank: do you believe him? Bashir basically talked around it and said no.
I might not like the guy, but I think Canseco's at least worth listening to. There were nuggets of truth in his last book, right? It was a good interview, just wondering if anyone else heard it.

As much as a rat Canseco is. As bitter as he is... he is forcing baseball to clean up there act. I hope Arod gets busted.

Too be honest I thought he was clean but pretty much everything Jose has said in the past about others has been backed up one way or another so who knows

I highly doubt it but you never know.
He was right about Raffy, Mcgwire and Clemens so there is obviously a great chance that he is also telling the truth here.

From what i've read, it simply sounds like Canseco introduced A-Rod to a known steroid supplier, A-Rod didn't approach him about it.

Or he is just milking it. When the first book came out everyone and there mother had an excuse why he was doing what he was doing. That nothing he said was true. But at the end of the day a lot what he said was backed up one way or another.

honestly i think that at least 60% of players used PEDs at one point or another.

Not a chance. MLB's weak drug test's don't even detect Human Growth Hormones. Im as big as a baseball fan as anybody, it is my fav sport by far but lets be honest, it is still very far away from having a clean league.

i think that what roger clemens and barry bonds are going through will keep the young guys entering the show and the vets as well from using PED, just because of the embarrassment they will feel if anyone even alleges that theyre doped up. i think that will keep them from using, at least for the most part.
but youre right, the MLB should toughen their doping policy, and their punishments as well, it might seem a little harsh, but if i was the commish, i would ban anyone from the MLB if theyre even caught ONE TIME using PED..that and make them return at least 90% of the money that club paid them. THAT will have everyone shit scared that they wont even want to associate with a known pusher.

The problem goes way beyond Bonds and Clemens. We just hear so much about those guys because they are record breakers... People aren't going to stop using roids and hgh because of what those 2 are going through, because average or sub average players in the leauge use it to get enough of an edge just to STAY in the league so they can make a good living for themselves and thier families. They have got to find a better way to test for hgh :( ....
As for the Arod/Conseco thing... years ago I would have thought Conseco was high on crack, but the man has been right on a very high percentage of everything he's said in the last 5 years, and he has been saying this about A Rod since his last book came out, but kept it out of the book because he said he didn't have all of his sources to back it up. I'm not ready to buy into it, but you can't ignore this if you are a mlb fan.
