Title: Should ice cube be signing more westcoast artist on hes label?
Post by: EAZY-LI on March 28, 2008, 06:45:58 AM
i mean the dudes got money from all hes films and shit and
hes been doing good from he indepent album laugh now cry later
and he has W.C signed to hes label now and put out an album.

i think he should be signing groups like above the law and rappers like
m.c ren croked i lil eazy.maybe even the dogg pound

you know so we could have like another ruthless or deathrow
a westcoast label fall of old and new acts.
with the freedom to do the music they want like back in the day

dre ain't gonna do it cuz interscope just want that club banging
party bullshit!

what you guys think?

He has got

WC
Crazy Toones
Young Maylay

All three have focus and are working on material, why would cube sign old groups/artists that he cant work on fully or fund?

Plus he is indi with distrubition! There will never be another label powerhouse like Death Row or Ruthless as the business has changed! People need to realise that.

why cant he fund them dudes got shit loads of money
eazy and dre did it why cant he
the only reson i can thnik of is cuz people download
to much music instead buying records
and as for being old W.C is an old rapper
mc ren and him suppose to be cool aswell as lil eazy
and wernt long ago dubcc was trying to promote a.t.l

cube is wealthy but he hasnt got bottomless pockets. majors are a different issue - cube funds lench mobb independently.

eazy and dre? this is the late 80s and both ended up on majors.

download is a massive business, people need to stop dismissing online as a problem - yes there is lots of free music - but download SALES is growing and will become 60% of the music industry in the next 10 years.

Age isnt the issue when i referred to age it was mainly to do with popularity and the ability to fund/promote the projects.

Of course we still promote artists - we are trying to help people who fund the music!

No. Cube is Cube he done enough already. And he can do whatever the fuck he wants to do
he dont need to do shit.

Fact is though that Snoop, Game & Cube gotta promote their artists more.

Close thread.

cube said he has WC and that's it. he wants to focus on their stuff and not sign 1000 artists that never put sth out anyway

U also gotta realize its a business. Cube would probably lose money pushing and promoting artists ESPECIALLY in todays climate. If I remember correctly, WC had an opening week of 14,000 of his last album. If i'm cube, i'd drop a 16 and maybe produce a couple tracks, but as far as signing them and then investing money in them, I wouldn't do it.
