but all the "stop the violence" shit is just bullshit. I mean more than half of the dudes on there are "promoting" (or whateva u wanna call it) violence. Thats just being a hypocrite.
-
Not really... music is entertainment. It's not meant for people to take to the heart and go out and shoot somebody over a song that has violence in it. That's as ridiculous as seeing Goodfellas and then go shooting somebody.
I don't think any of these artists want to really see young kids get killed in the streets - and that's their message.

They have Nelly, Chamillionaire, The Game, Fat Joe, and others... they are pretty popular. I've actually heard complaints of just the opposite, of people saying that none of these guys are conscious rappers (see Don Dada's post as an example)...

yeah but when you have cameras talkin about how hood you are and how many hood niggas u know or how certified you are and
etc etc lol then that's being a hypocrite. More than half of them got beef with dude's everyday (I.E. Game, Fat Joe etc). You're right people
ain't supposed to take it to the heart but at the same time rappers should not take the "stories" that they are portraying and really live that shit instead of just leavin it to the artform.

think of it as wrestling.... Triple H will get in front of a camera, rant and rave about how bad he is and how his opponent is a piece of crap... then will go out and have a match for the entertainment of the fans.
He doesn't want you to go out and piledrive somebody on their head though..
It's all the same thing...
