Post by: Sir Petey on April 11, 2008, 12:21:18 AM
get ready for it wc rap is comin back. cats get tired of the southern sound now that the east is abusing it too.

thats what happened to the westcoast sound/g funk, everybody was using it and it got played out..now it sounds fresh again.

everything moves in circles.

I respect what the south is doing. Alot of dope artists from there that are getting grouped in with alot of the music you are hearing on the radio that is wack. The west has alot to look forward to as far as the future. The question is will the fans and the artists support it when it drops.

Im not dissing the south Im just drawing a parrellel to what happened about 10 plus years ago.

the west was winnin and then you had biggie droppin tracks like big poppa and juicy and it was a free for all for who ever wanted  put theyre spin on the west coast signature sound.

the south didnt have a sound yet and if they did It was bass music or maybe that gumbo funk rap a lot used to make.

now the south got the game and everyone is using the tripled up high hats with the 808's and the lil jon synths.

slowly but surely the wc is comin back....and we didnt need a dre album to makie it happen.

oh yeah...I love the sound of an 808.

dre's first productions were smothered in 808's...peep eazy e's no more question

I probably should have pointed out that Im from the south and now live in the midwest.

Im not unfamiliar with the 808's Im just basically laying out the formula.

my thing is...

I hope that when the wc blows....and it will blow (pause)

...thats its a whole wc movement not an LA or socal thing....you see how niggas embrace all parts of the south?
when you hear east coast you only think NY
when you think WC you mainly think about LA
that stagnates the movment...I appreatiate snoop for putting out life of the party as a single for that reason.
