-
It was a fuckin classic album.
-

and I appreciate this thread..
Long as u recognize that.. then I'm good with it!
II is a classic "Westcoast" album.. period.
I thank everyone who was involved in the creation of it..
Especially Damizza, Dr.Dre and Dj Quik.
-
damn imagine
a new album wit shade, quik, knoc on the hooks (IMO hes better as a hook-master)
and butch slidin thru,, ahhhh shit kurupt on his imback flow!!!
ahh shit, we can only dream!
but thats what we need
not that I wasnt feelin the first album, jus IMO it was laid bacc a lil too much!(for me anyway)
I was feelin the wake up, cali disease, and other traccs.

It was one of those albums where I refused to compromise on my style..
I'm smooth.. I'm chill.. I'm laid-back.. and I wanted my debut to reflect that..
so when I came harder on my 2nd lp.. you understood why I named the 1st "Informal Introduction"
The 3rd is titled "Star Quality" for obvious reasons.. I'm consistent with my quality of music.
II was also a contradictory album.. as noted above..
You said the album was a lil too chill for you but then went on to say "Wake Up" and "Cali Diseaz" are ur favs
TWO OF THE CHILLEST TRACKS ON THE ALBUM.. Especially "Wake Up"... Much Love Yall!
-
Yup, even my girl loves "wake up" .. I also love "before the waitin, before the haitin", that one song "Makes me wanna f you" is a banger man.
-
Great album, no doubt!
Big ups to Shade!
-
makes me wanna f you (banger)
cali disease is a slow tracc but I prefer it over where I wanna be, and others!
and its cuz nates flow is different on that tracc, so is the tracc
prolly one of my favorite traccs of all time!
but see thats the good thing theres cats who like that where i wanna be, and cats who dont, then theres cats who like that cali disease and also who dont!
so as Ive said it was a all around album, to please all new fans!

You often mention your working-relationship with Dre, and appeared in the Money Ownerz-vid (Classic btw!)... How involved was he actually? I'm sure just making music around him is a big inspiration...

Eyyo, Shade - u need to send your lyrics to ohhla.com. They only got Wake Up
-
Great album, no doubt!
Big ups to Shade!
-

I worked next to Dr.Dre during most of the production of II..
He would very frequently come into our sessions and volunteer his expertise.
He co-signed singles.. denied singles.. enhanced mixes.. gave opinions..
He acted as a senior consultant pretty much!
Dr.Dre believed in me from jump.. That's why he maintains my entire respect.

who better to have as a senior consultant? 8) and it shows on the album!
-
yea Shade, Informal Introduction is sick man, laid back shit.
can't wait for your next album man.

Ain't that the truth.. One album I actually used to have to bring my bass levels
down on my truck systems when listening.. real talk.
Quik and Dre are the otherz, of course!
