Title: what to do in venice beach/santa monica pier?

i went last year with some buddies and all we did was walk around (a lot of walking) and scope out the scene, it was pretty fun especially when the rastas were on the beach going dumb at sunset...

im planning to go with my girl for our anniv. because she's never been there so i was wondering if there's anything else to do at venice beach or santa monica pier? any decent places to eat? any info will help guys

well since you're going with your girl i'd go to santa monica first and hit up THEIR shopping first cuz all venice has is a bunch of crazy swap meet shit.  eat some where nice  in santa monica (play eeny meeny minny moe it's alll good)  then hit up venice for all the casual entertainment you'll see.
