That shit was off the hook! I had went alone, the person I was supposed to go with bailed on me..their loss! :laugh: it was koo tho being surrounded by real hip-hop heads, communicated with a lot of people even tho I didnt knoe em..
place had kind of a lot of people, not too packed..
The first opening act was aight, nothin really special..
Second opening act was dope, name is 'Chuck Dimes' dope ass muhfucka..
Third was a local rapper by the name of 'Fashawn' ..tore the muhfucka down! had the whole place goin wild..he's a real coo muhfucka, I was chillin wit duke at the bar before the show then after outside the club..
& finally, Blu & Exile..place was goin crazy, pande-muthafuckin-monium..Blu starts off with some rhymes here n there to warm up, then goes right into 'My World Is' great way to start off the show, midway jumps into the crowd where I was at(I was bout 10 feet from the stage) so hes spittin the second verse right next to me! finishes the song, goes back on stage, place is fuckin goin crazy. From there went to a song bout smokin bud..forgot the title..after that 'Blu Colla Workers' dope as fuck! from there 'No Greater Love' crowd was lovin it, after that he let people go on stage, next was a song bout LAPD..this song had significance here because earlier today(april 16th) a cop killed a 17 year old sophomore at Roosevelt High School during lunch hour..I guess the student came up behind the cop n hit him in the head with a bat, cop fell, reached for his gun, magazine fell out, reached for his 2nd gun at his ankle then shot n killed the student..anyways durin the chorus, had us yelling 'fuck the police' and 'R-I-P to my nigga JD(J Dilla)' then Exile came from behind the booth n spit some shit, had every body bustin cuz homie was makin fun of his dick size n shit, after that 'Dancing In The Rain' all the ladies was feelin that shit, was dancin with this fine ass female, at this point i right in front of the stage with this chick, so we're dancin singin along havin a great time, then he sed the next song would be the last and it was 'The Narrow Path' that song is fuckin great, so he reached the end of the song shakin everybody hand in the front row including me n that chick, then hes all like 'im out' we start chanting 'one more song' so he does one more, killed it..Awesome show, one of the greatest live performances I've ever seen, it was a small venue so it was prolly better than a colliseum type show..from there i go on stage get his autograph on a 5 dollar bill(all i had left) he put 'To my nigga nick, make mo money, I see u! -BLU!' then i told him see u in vegas on the 14th, he has a show on June 14th with Joe Budden in Vegas, when I said that he had a surprised ass look on his face like surprised to knoe i knew about, then he said 'good lookin out I appreciate the support homie' then gave him a handshake n left..Other words were said but I dont really remember them..
Blu is a cool muthafucka tho, major props to him for comin thru to my city. If y'all ever get the chance to see him live GO. dude is a great live performer n theres not a single dull moment when hes on stage, u'll be singin n dancin the whole time 8)
BTW this was my first hip-hop concert...One of the greatest experiences of my life too..
do y'all have any suggestions on which underground rapper(s) to go see live?
