Listening to Balance & Options, I feel that this is one of the best songs from that album along with "Well", "Change Da Game", "Pitch In Ona Party" & "I Don't Wanna Party Wit U". James DeBarge did a dope job on singing & Quik came correct as usual on the producing tip. I consider "Tha Divorce Song" to be tied with "Whatever U Do", "50 Wayz", "You'z A Ganxta" & "One On 1" as one of Quik's deepest material as far as considering both the lyrics & the music. It's a shame he couldn't give this song a push as a single when the album came out, I feel it could've done decently well at least locally here in Cali. 8)

yea it's good.... would be able to relate more had I been married and divorced but ya know
I mostly like the mini Quik's Groove at the end... or the middle, or wherever it's at in that one

^Word. It seems like it was intentionally meant to be more of an R&B type beat, similar to the one he would end up using for Jodeci on Trauma, which is why Quik kept it blank instead of adding verses to it.

Dope Song. I remember he reused tha beat on a Won G song:
