You already know when Ice Cube goes into war mode, all hell is gonna break loose. After releasing a first appetizer off his upcoming solo album "Raw Footage" in the first single "Gangsta Rap Made Me Do It", along with the remix featuring Scarface and Nas, the West Coast War Lord is blasting out another album track called "It Takes A Nation".
In times where every artist is worried about "finding the right single", it's truly refreshing to hear an artist like Ice Cube, in who's music you can truly feel that it's ginuine and coming from his heart.
"It Takes A Nation" is Ice Cube at his finest: raw, uncut and political. The beat, courtesy of Emile, is banging too, ya'll need to turn this one up to really feel it's energy. Cube calls himself "the only rapper that wants to fist fight the president" on the track, and it's a good representation of what he's offering us with his latest tracks. August 19th...damn it. Always irritating to find out that an album you're anticipating got pushed back. But oh well...August is not THAT far away. Still, would've been nice to bump some new Ice Cube shit during the summer :(

yeah, that's the worst part of this delay! that june release would have positioned itself perfectly for the summertime.

Yeah but honestly you look at all the promo Cube did before LNCL compared to this one. I don't blame him for pushing it back. Give that single more time to marinate and make some appearances to hype up the album and single some more.

sure, Lench Mob Records is independant, but i thought his label situation is somewhat comparable with death row records, since he's backed by a major.
so couldn't it be "label politics", that caused the delay?

Could be. But i always got the impression Virgin Records/EMI was strictly distributing Cube record. Maybe they do have some say but that kind of defeats the whole purpose for Cube to say he is indie if they have that much say on his project. But it could be the case, I have no insight on it.

i see; well death row was said to be independant too, but that was only true to a certain extent.
that's why i was i little suprised that you were so sure that Cube pushed it back ;)
