Title: The Netherlands: Euro 2008 selection
Post by: smegma on May 06, 2008, 07:27:56 AM: These 30 players have the chance to go to Euro '08. Seven of them will not go.

Goal: Sander Boschker (FC Twente), Edwin van der Sar (Manchester United), Maarten Stekelenburg (Ajax) en Henk Timmer (Feyenoord).

Defence: Wilfred Bouma (Aston Villa), Tim de Cler (Feyenoord), Urby Emanuelson (Ajax), John Heitinga (Ajax), Kew Jaliens (AZ), Joris Mathijsen (HSV), Mario Melchiot (Wigan Athletic) and André Ooijer (Blackburn Rovers).

Midfield: Ibrahim Afellay (PSV), Giovanni van Bronckhorst (Feyenoord), Orlando Engelaar (FC Twente), Nigel de Jong (HSV), Denny Landzaat (Feyenoord), Hedwiges Maduro (Valencia), Clarence Seedorf (AC Milan), Wesley Sneijder (Real Madrid), Rafael van der Vaart (HSV) and Demy de Zeeuw (AZ)

Offence: Ryan Babel (Liverpool), Klaas Jan Huntelaar (Ajax), Danny Koevermans (PSV), Dirk Kuyt (Liverpool), Ruud van Nistelrooy (Real Madrid), Robin van Persie (Arsenal), Arjen Robben (Real Madrid) and Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink (Celtic)

I bet you will, although I hope that you can make it to the semi-finals or final so we can beat you. It would be cool if you could eliminate those Italian bastards, but I doubt that.

exactly. But Sneijder, Van der Vaart, Robben and van Persie in one team + Van the Man :o

One goalie has to go and that is probably going to be Boschker.

Out of the other players... I don't know, but if I had to make a decision I'd send Emanuelson, Maduro, Kuyt and Mathijsen away. I don't know who the other 2 would be.
